Realme X50 5G now available in Europe, is actually the X50m model

The Realme X50 5G has arrived in Europe. The phone became available earlier today, you can find it on Realme.com at a price of €350. There is only one memory configuration, GB of RAM and 128 GB storage, and two color options, Jungle Green and Ice Silver (which is actually blue).

€350 is the same price as the Realme 6 Pro, which uses the slower Snapdragon 720G chipset (and is 4G only) and the 6.6” screen tops out at 90 Hz. The Snapdragon 765G chipset inside the X50 brings not only 5G connectivity, but a more powerful GPU to boot. And it needs it as its 6.57” display has 120Hz refresh rate. However, the 6 Pro gets 2 extra gigs of RAM at the same price.

Here’s an important note – the European X50 launched as the X50m elsewhere. The two X50 models are pretty similar, save for the cameras. The euro model gets a 48MP main camera on the back, compared to 64MP on the other X50 and the Realme 6 Pro.

Also, this model loses the 12 MP telephoto camera (2x zoom, 54 mm), which is available on the other X50 as well as on the Realme 6 Pro. Finally, the secondary cam on the front is a depth sensor instead of an 8 MP ultra wide cam.

In terms of battery the three phones are essentially the same – the new Realme X50 has a 4,200 mAh battery that can be charged from 0% to 70% in 30 minutes (a full charge takes 55 minutes). This is thanks to the 30 W Dart charger, which is powerful enough to go from 0-43% even while you’re gaming.

The X50 supports 12 different 5G bands and can automatically switch to 4G to save power then back to 5G when an app needs a fast connection. It can also juggle dual-band Wi-Fi to ensure a fast, stable, efficient connection.

There’s also the Realme X50 Pro 5G, which is much pricier, €600. It does come with a Super AMOLED display, Snapdragon 865 and 65W fast charger (plus the better camera version with 64 MP main and 12 MP tele modules).

Meanwhile, the Realme Buds Q are launching on the Old Continent as well. These cost only €30 (actually, €20 if you buy them alongside any Realme phone), but they boast 10 mm drivers, IPX4 rain and sweat resistance and 4.5 hour playback (20 hours total with the charging case). These are available right now on Realme.com as well.

Realme X50 Pro Player is official, comes with graphite sheets for extra cooling

Today is a big day for Realme - the company is launching multiple devices in China, including three smartphones. The online event began with the unveiling of the Realme X50 Pro Player - a phone having the body of the regular Realme X50 Pro but with hardware-boosting features.

gsmarena_002.jpg

Many of the impressive flagship specs are still here - Snapdragon 865 chipset with 5G connectivity, 6.44” AMOLED screen with 90 Hz refresh rate and LPDDR5 RAM and UFS 3.0 storage. The phone now comes with HyperBoost 3.0 that allocates all the memory, chipset, and battery power to increase the gaming experience - this means no redundant notifications, background-running apps, while the location services are turned off.

Realme CMO Xu Qi Chase revealed the battery will remain the same and will keep the 65W fast-charging capabilities. The 4,200 mAh battery will go from 0% to 100% in 35 minutes, while the phone can be up and running and provide an hour of calls just after three minutes of charging.

gsmarena_003.jpg

HyperBoost 3.0 will also switch between Wi-Fi to LTE or 5G with zero lag, whichever is quickest, so there is no drop in performance of the online gaming. Realme CMO also introduced the X50 Pro Player cooling capabilities - it will have graphite sheets between the battery and the back panel to help dissipate the heat and provide optimal gaming.

Having better gaming capabilities without increasing the price means some specs have to go - the X50 Pro Player replaces the 64 MP cam with a 48 MP module, and the telephoto camera makes way to a 2 MP macro shooter. On the front we also have a downgrade - the 32 MP + 8 MP ultra-wide cameras are now 16 MP + 2 MP depth sensor.

Realme X50 Pro Player will be offered in two colors - Light Speed Silver and Phantom Black. The phone has 128 GB storage, but three RAM versions, bringing three different price points - 6/128 GB phone will cost CNY2,699 ($380/€350), 8/128 GB version is CNY2,999 ($420/€385), and the 12/128 GB is CNY3,299 ($460/€425). Pre-order will open later today, with the first flash sale scheduled for June 1.

There is also an anniversary Realme X50 Pro version, celebrating one year of the company's presence at the domestic market. The phone is not for sale - it will be gifted to special fans following raffles and other activities, posted on the official Weibo page of the brand.

Realme X50 Pro 5G debuts with SD865, 65W charging and six cameras

Realme introduced its first smartphone with 5G in January, and now the company went through and launched a true flagship for the global scene - meet the Realme X50 Pro. The phone comes with Snapdragon 865 a versatile camera setup and class leading 65W fast-charging.

Realme equipped the X50 Pro with a 6.44” FullHD+ Super AMOLED display with 90Hz refresh rate, which is sitting behind a sheet of Gorilla Glass 5. There is a scanner underneath the panel - Realme says the sensor can scan your fingerprint in 0.27 seconds.

gsmarena_003.jpg

The Snapdragon 865 chipset is coupled with a 5G modem and up to 12 GB LPDDR5 RAM (there are also 6GB and 8GB options). Storage-wise, the X50 Pro will have either 128GB or 256 GB UFS 3.0 with TurboWrite and Host Performance Booster that enable writing and reading speeds up to 760 MB/s and 1900 MB/s, respectively.

Realme X50 Pro has four cameras on the back with the main one using a 64MP Samsung ISOCELL GW1 sensor behind F/1.8 lens. It's a Tetracell imager that normally outputs 16MP images in with 4-to-1 pixel binning.

It's joined by an 8MP F/2.3 ultrawide-angle shooter with PDAF and 119-degree FoV and a 12MP 2x telephoto camera behind F/2.5 lens. Finally there's the B&W portrait module that's basically a depth sensor for enhancing your bokkeh shots.

There are two more shooters in a pill-shapped punch hole at the front. A large 32MP Sony IMX616 sensor is joined by an 8MP ultrawide module for when you need to fit all your friends in the frame.

Realme X50 Pro arrived with 65W SuperDart Flash Charge support that lets you fill the 4,200 mAh battery inside in 35 minutes, while in just 20 minutes it can get up to 60%, which should get you through the day. The charger inside the retail package is of the GaN variety, meaning it's smaller and more efficient than current Super VOOC 2.0 chargers.

The X50 Pro also supports 18W Quick Charge/Power Delivery solutions and 30W VOOC 4.0 Flash Charge, meaning you can use pretty much every modern fast charger on the market and still get a reasonably quick top-up.

The phone will arrive with its the company's custom Realme UI based on Android 10.

Other highlights include stereo speakers, NFC and Google Pay and vapor cooling system for keeping it cool during lengthily gaming sessions.

The Realme will go on sale in Moss Green and Rust Red. It will cost €599 for the base 8GB+128GB configuration, €669 for double the storage and €749 for the top 12GB/256GB version.

We already have a hands-on review of the Realme X50 Pro 5G where you can learn more about it.

The Realme X50 5G goes on sale in China today. It starts at CNY 2,499 (INR25,800/€320) for the 8GB+128GB model, CNY 2,699 (INR28,000/€350) for the 6GB+256GB and CNY 2,999 (INR31,000/€390) for the top of the line 12GB+256GB.

Realme X50 5G incoming with two selfie cameras

Realme introduced its first flagship called X2 Pro earlier this year, and it came with the Snapdragon 855+ chipset and plenty of other premium specs. Now, the company is aiming even higher and will introduce the Realme X50 5G very soon, the CMO of the company revealed on Weibo.

The post by Xu Qi Chase also has the outline of a phone, and we can spot two cameras in the upper left corner in what appears to be a punch hole in the display. This means the X50 5G will be not only the first 5G-enabled phone of the brand, but also the first one with a hole in the display.

gsmarena_002.jpg

While the jump from X2 to X50 truly is intriguing, Chase explained the logic behind the name. X stands for the X lineup which is the pioneer series with all the new technology that Realme is implementing, 5 represents the incoming 5G generation of smartphones and 0 is for new beginnings - much like the 5G-enabled future of the mobile phone business.

The Realme X50 5G will work both on standalone and non-standalone 5G networks, which means easier transition and broader coverage of the next-generation connectivity. Realme is yet to reveal more about the smartphone, including any time frame for its launch.

Talvez porque o programa beta começou no X2 Pro.
