[ Silverstone TJ09 Review]

PC Casings have evolved over time. Tall , slim, short, wide, spacious, compact, inverted, etc.

But today, we're here to review a pedigree, the Silverstone TJ09. This time, let's make things interesting, we're pitting it against another pedigree of it's time, the Silverstone TJ06.

How will this fully aluminium beast fare against its steel predecessor? Let's find out.

In this reivew, the 2 cases undergo a series of thermal efficiency tests, with a wide range of temperature probes both on and off die.

The hardware used in this reivew are BIG in heat dissapation, just to make things interesting in seeing how effective this enclosure can be in channeling heat away from the core components.

Conclusion

How many other cases this one surpasses is quite uncountable. Finished with a brushed aluminium chassis both inside and outside, very stylish front and mini jack panels, minimalistic and then classy with yet a modern tinge to it. This case itself is a work of art. Aesthetics aside, this case scores big points for practicality as well. There is of course the removable motherboard tray which is not quite common with cases these days for some reason. And the catch and close without any sliding side panels which makes the lives of perfectionist case modders a lot easier when they are down to hiding the wires at the back of this case. With a revolutionary design consisting of a main air inlet that pushes air into the main chassis from the sides, it isolates the heat emenated from the hard drives at the same time. This case is more than just a pretty face for sure. Good placement of the core components optimizes the heat dissipation within the case. Even the wetter water-cooled people were much considered when all this case was was but a sketch at the design studio. Everything pre-customized for a watercooled setup, though it works great with common air-cooling. Not to mention that this case is so spacious, it makes components look small, a lot of room for manuevering your hands in as well.

But of course all that bling bling's gotta come with some bling blang. At a price of USD$310 / SGD$490, this case probably isn't going to be on your desktop if you're one who just wants a "working PC". If you want the best though, this has to be in your list, at least one case you don't want to write off... and that's just putting it forth conservatively and pessimistically...
