Psyonix is partnering with publisher 505 Games to bring their multi-million unit digital seller Rocket League to retail for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One as Rocket League: Collector’s Edition in Q3 2016, the companies announced.
The retail version includes all three major downloadable content packs to date, including the “Supersonic Fury,” “Revenge of the Battle-Cars,” and “Chaos Run” add-ons, as well as several retail-exclusive bonuses that have yet to be announced.
Officially confirmed by our friends at Microsoft earlier today, Rocket League and Xbox One cross-network play will soon become a reality!
To say that the team here at Psyonix is both honored and excited to have Rocket League as the first cross-network game is a massive understatement. Cross-network play has been the number-one most requested feature our community has asked for since Rocket League was first announced on Xbox One, and now that we are able to pursue complete online unity on all platforms, today’s announcement is a dream come true.
Expect to see Rocket League cross-network play working on Xbox One and PC later this spring, with information regarding other platforms coming soon.
Rocket League retail version release date announced, includes four new cars
505 games and Psyonix have announced details of the upcoming retail version of Rocket League. Called Rocket League: Collector’s Edition, this version of the game includes all previously released expansions (Supersonic Fury, Revenge of the Battle Cars, and Chaos Run).
Four new vehicles will also make their debut in the retail version, though no details were revealed about them.
Rocket League: Collector’s Edition launches June 24 in the UK and Europe, and July 5 in North America on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
Psyonix_DunhamSmash;
Just wanted to drop in real quick and give you guys some reassurances that the cars in the Collector's Edition will also be available for sale digitally after the retail version comes out. There will likely be a short window of exclusivity between the physical release and their digital availability, but it won't be for very long.
Don't worry -- having permanently-exclusive items for the retail version doesn't align with our philosophy. EVERYONE will have the option to get those cars eventually. =)
By popular demand, "Rocket League Hoops" mode adds a dynamic basketball twist to our soccer-meets-driving concept. In addition to the mode itself, this FREE update also comes with a brand new arena, "Dunk House," where the net itself can be used as a ramp for the ball and Aerials and wall-play is the key to victory. As an added bonus, basketball fans eager to represent their favorite NBA team on the Rocket League hardwood can optionally purchase the "NBA Flag Pack" premium DLC -- which gives players immediate access to all 30 NBA teams' logos as in-game flags.
