Firstly Square Enix has most recently became infatuated with the Xbox 360. We have seen a number of exclusive Xbox 360 titles in development, including Star ocean: the last hope, infinite undiscovery. The most recent anouncment, Final fantasy XIII, for the Xbox 360 is probably the biggest indicator of where Kingdom hearts 3 is heading. It is quite obvious that Square Enix has fallen in love with the Xbox 360 as all of these titles are exclusive to the platform and the Playstation 3 has a miniscule amount of titles from Square enix. This may be due to easier development or they are simply aimign for the console with the larger install base and attach rate. Although the Xbox 360 does not hav Blu-ray and can therefore store less data on its discs, other games have already demonstarted that multiple discs are a viable option and do not cut back on the gaming experience.
The Kingdom hearts franchise is typically asociated with children as it is disney based and has a rather childish feel to it, meaning that it would presumably make its way to the Wii. Square enix has also fallen in with the Nintendo DS, even claiming that portable gaming is the future. This has led to the release of Final fantasy 3, 4, chocobo tales, dragon quest and more also implying that Kingdom hearts 3 will be heading in the Nintendo direction. However Kingdom hearts is also heading to the DS which is msot likely so that the Nintendo camp has a Kingdom hearts game. The same is also true with the PSP getting a kingdom hearts game, which may also be to satisfy the Kingdom hearts players in the Sony camp.
With Square giving everything It has, and more, to the Xbox 360 then a Kingdom hearts game is well within the realms of possibility. After Final fantasy, Kingdom hearts is their biggest franchise and the perfect franchise to signify that Square has found its new pet console, just like the NES, SNES, PS1 and PS2 before it. However this does not signify that the game will be an Xbox 360 exclusive, after all the majority of the Kingdom hearts fanbase are Playstation 2 owners and like FFXIII it might possibly be a cross console outing. The bottom line, Square are a business, and business' make money.
