The incredibly often leaked Samsung Galaxy Alpha (seen on the right in the image below) could become official a lot sooner than you may have expected, if a new rumor is to be believed.
The device, which will introduce the world to the concept of Samsung using metal in an Android smartphone, is said to be announced on August 4 - that's the coming Monday, by the way. It's also earlier than the August 13 date a past rumor mentioned.

This may of course have something to do with the fact that the Galaxy Note 4 will get unveiled at the beginning of September. Making the Alpha official around one month before that allows it to have the spotlight all to itself for a few weeks, after which the new Note will become the talk of the town.
With its rumored 4.7 or 4.8-inch touchscreen, the Galaxy Alpha may have been designed by Samsung to be a direct competitor to the iPhone 6, which should get a similarly sized display. The metallic construction will certainly make the Galaxy Alpha appealing as well.
The handset will apparently sport a fingerprint scanner and heart rate monitor just like the Galaxy S5 line, and 32GB of non-expandable storage space. Like all recent iPhones, it will get a nano SIM slot. A Samsung-made Exynos chipset with LTE support should be at the helm.

We also get to take a look at the phone from below, where we find its speaker alongside a microUSB port an the microphone. The phone will sport a removable, 1,850mAh battery. This may sound like too little for a 4.7" smartphone, but it's still in line with what the smartphone's key rival, the iPhone 6 is allegedly going to offer.
The Samsung Galaxy Alpha carries the SM-G850 model number and packs an Exynos 5 Octa chipset with four Cortex-A15 cores and four Cortex-A7 cores. Internal memory is reported at 32GB, sans microSD card, while the screen is of the Super AMOLED type and rocks a 720p resolution.

At the back, the Galaxy Alpha sports 12MP snapper with LED flash and the phone is running Android 4.4.4 KitKat.
If you live in the UK, you can place a pre-order for the phone already. We can expect the phone to be announced as early as next week, but there's also information that it can happen as late as September 13.

If the listing’s information proves accurate, and not just based on rumors, the UK retailer reveals that the device will cost £549 outright for the 32GB model, or about $920. Turning to the spec sheet, everything they listed fits in with past rumors, including a 4.7-inch Super AMOLED display with a 1280×720 resolution and octa-core Exynos 5 processor. The listing also mentioned 4G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0 with A2DP, GPS, microUSB, EDR and L, as well as a 12MP rear camera with autofocus and LED.

esse foto foi tirada no brasil, e esse preço é o preço brasileiro, la um s5 custa mais de 1000e. Parece me interessante o telemovel, podemos ter uma ideia de como sera o note 4
 
Mais fragmentação/diluição do branding Galaxy num design horrendo com um preço inflacionado e claro sem esquecer a cópia descarada da frame metalica à volta do aparelho.
 
Estou para ver quanto é que uma barrita metálica em torno do aparelho vai acrescentar ao preço final. O design é mesmo fraco, ainda para mais olhando para o que a congénere LG está a fazer.

É pena, pensei ao início que a gama Alpha (que penso equivaler ao Galaxy F) seria um passo em frente rumo a uma modernização do design (incluindo da UI) e melhoria da qualidade de construção, mas por enquanto está quase tudo igual.

o design ate parece de um S2.. que foi dos melhores designs que tiveram...ha 3 anos atras :lol:
 
Epa juro que não percebo, se é plástico é porque é plástico se é metal é porque é metal, mas da Samsung e vendo os designs dos útlimos modelos estavam à espera do quê?
 
eu por acaso tinha ideia que o alpha iria ser o topo de gama, acima do note e S.. vamos ver o preço a que chega, parece me concorrer com o Z1Q
