Square Enix anuncia o remake do primeiro Star Ocean

A Square Enix anunciou que se encontra a trabalhar no remake do primeiro Star Ocean para a PlayStation 4 e Nintendo Switch. Bem, na verdade, é um remake de um remake.

Star Ocean: First Departure R, é assim o nome deste título, é baseado no remake do original Star Ocean lançado em 2007 para a PSP, chamado Star Ocean: First Departure. Esta versão para a consola portátil da Sony ofereceu novos cenários, novas personagens jogáveis, e uma maior quantidade de voice acting.

A notícia foi dada pelo Twitter oficial da Square Enix, juntamente com uma imagem, mas por agora, não se sabe mais nada sobre o projecto nem uma possível janela de lançamento.

Star Ocean: First Departure R Dated for December Release

Square Enix has announced the release date for the upcoming remaster of one of its classic RPGs in Star Ocean: First Departure R for later this year, as well as more details on what the new version will entail over the original remake from the PSP back in 2008.

On this new version, you'll be able to select from the PSP version's Japanese or English voice acting, only now you'll also be able to select the Japanese voice over work from the original Super Famicom Japanese version too, which was previously only available in Japan. You'll also be able to switch from the original artwork to new character illustrations from Star Ocean: The Last Hope's Katsumi Enami.

On top of this is a new speed mode, to allow you to progress through the game faster if you're short on time and new adjusted game balance to enable players to "enjoy more challenge in combat'. All this is summarised in a new trailer, which you can see below.

Star Ocean: First Departure R releases for the PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch on the 5th December, and pre-orders for PS4 also get a dynamic theme and a digital soundtrack when the game releases on that date.
