Star Wars: Battlefront 2 coming in 2017

Electronic Arts has plenty of Star Wars planned for its schedule.

The publisher revealed today during an investors’ earnings call that a sequel to its online shooter Star Wars: Battlefront should debut in 2017.

EA also noted that a new action game based on Star Wars from Visceral (the studio behind the Dead Space series) will follow in 2018.

Get Your First Look At Star Wars Battlefront2's Naboo Map

Naboo is the first Star Wars Battlefront 2 map to get a little teaser from DICE and EA.

EA has confirmed that this weekend's EA Play will be the first example of gameplay we'll see from the title: we'll be treated to a 40-player assault mode on Theed. In announcing that, DICE also showed off a teaser of the Naboo map.

The Naboo map will include flyable Naboo N-1 Starfighters, too, which is fancy - this was confirmed by Dennis Brännvall, the associate design director recently on Twitter.

Star Wars: Battlefront 2 is out November 17th on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.

Star Wars Battlefront II open beta set for October 6 to 9

The open beta for Star Wars Battlefront II will begin on October 6 and run through October 9, Electronic Arts announced. Users who pre-order the game will get access to the beta two days early on October 4.
