A Lucas Arts dantes tinha jogos tão bons...

Os Monkey Island
Os Xwings e TIE Fighters
Os Jedi Knights
:(

IGN
The new The Clone Wars game from LucasArts, a third-person action title, will be set sometime between the first and second seasons of the animated TV show, tossing you into an original story against a new villain Kul Teska. Playing as Jedi heroes like Anakin Skywalker, Obi Wan Kenobi, or Mace Windu, you'll be able to battle droids using lightsabers and powers like force pushing. We didn't get an opportunity to play, but we were told the controls are meant to be simple and accessible to allow anyone of any age range to play.

In total there'll be 8 playable Jedi, and one of the more interesting abilities was called 'droid jacking,' where a Jedi character can jump up on top of a droid and slam their lightsaber through the victim's head. By doing this the Jedi effectively gains control of the droid, allowing them to move around and cause damage while the period of control lasts. This works regardless of what type of droid you target, so it should help make the gameplay feel more varied, particularly if you decide to take advantage of the two-player drop-in, drop-out cooperative gameplay. In Jedi stages you'll also find some simplistic puzzles to be solved using a variety of powers.

If you feel like experiencing something a little different, it's also possible to play as one of 10 clone characters. These guys have a different style and abilities, focusing mostly on utilizing weaponry strewn throughout the stage. They can fire blasters, toss thermal detonators, and pick up special weapons in certain spots like a minigun to wipe out large groups of foes, or rocket launchers. Jetpacks also factor into the combat, letting you float around for a little while above the fray.

Also popping up during levels will be instant challenges, which trigger at certain points during stages. If you enter you'll compete against squadmates in scenarios like battles and races for high scores. In the demo we were given, the visuals looked bright and cartoony and the action fast. The Jedi stage was set on in an old mining facility and for the clone mission we were on a planet in the Naboo system with an acidic atmosphere. In all players can expect 30 unique missions to battle through when the game ships this September for a ton of platforms.

We only saw the console version, so no word on the DS version. According to an official release, though, that game will feature some kind of touch screen functionality. Republic Heroes is also being built for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PSP, PC, and in the United States only, the PlayStation 2.

While no one would fault you for thinking any game with the words “Star Wars” in the title would be based on the movies, Star Wars: The Clone Wars: Republic Heroes is actually a new action game with roots in the ongoing The Clone Wars cartoon that airs on the Cartoon Network. From what we saw of the game at E3 today, fans of 'toon will be very happy. Republic shares a lot with the The Clone Wars cartoon. It uses the show's art assets, so it shares the show’s distinct style, and the same writers and voice actors are on board here too. More importantly, the game picks up where the first season ends, with plot points having repercussions in the second season.

As for the gameplay, The Clone Wars is a third-person, fixed-camera, action game where you alternately play as a Jedi and a Clone Trooper, with both sets of lead characters having their own skills.

Since more than half of the missions are played as a Jedi, we’ll start with them. Playing as such favorites as Anakin, Obi-Wan, or Ahsoka Tano, the game works like your standard hack & slash action game. While you do have some Force powers, you mostly spend your time swinging your lightsaber with impunity. Not that you have to go it alone, since you actually pick a second Jedi to accompany you on your missions, and have some Clone Troopers who provide back-up as well.

Speaking of the Clones, when the game centers the action on them, it changes into a shooter -- but a shooter akin to Robotron, since you move with one of the thumbsticks while aiming with the other. The game also features six Clones from the show: You can choose back-up from Commander Cody, Rex, and four new ones.

That is, if you’re not playing the game co-op style. The game features drop-in/drop-out co-op, both offline and on, so your special someone can join in the fun as well. (though, oddly, you can’t switch between the two characters you’ve picked when you’re playing on your own).

Best of all, the game is slated to be released by LucasArts on the 360, PS3, PSP, Wii, PC, DS, and PS2 this September, just in time for the October launch of the new season.

I got to meet up with my pals from Lucas during E3 yesterday, and they walked me through their Star Wars themed title. A classic battle between good and evil (is there any other kind?), you battle your way through levels wielding your lightsaber and powers of the Force. But this game isn't based on the classic Star Wars franchise — it takes off after season one of the hugely popular animated series on the Cartoon Network, The Clone Wars. Not only does the game look like a ton of fun for experienced gamers and newcomers alike (since the main action involves button mashing and aiming your joystick), but it keeps things fresh by adding in a few new features. To find out what they are, just read more.
If you're familiar with the other Star Wars games (or even if you aren't), then you'll love the added features that come with Star Wars The Clone Wars: Republic Heroes. You'll be able to jump on various enemies and take them over, using them against their own kind in a move called "Droid Jacking." Not only is this really fun, but you'll earn achievements as well. Another cool feature you'll find familiar is the "Drop in, Drop Out" co-op play we saw in Lego Star Wars and Lego Indiana Jones. Your friends can pick up a controller and jump in, then leave at any point they want. Cool for those fly-by-the-seat-of-their-pants types.
And finally, to keep things interesting, LucasArts has added some fun mini games (like shoot-em up, which has you mowing down enemies for points) within the levels. The good news is you won't have to exit your current game, so it's not a hassle to participate. Due out in September, Star Wars The Clone Wars: Republic Heroes will be released on the Wii, DS, PSP, PS2, PS3, Xbox 360, and PC platforms.

- Obi-Wan Kenobi
- Anakin Skywalker
- Ashoka Tano
- Mace Windu
- Plo Koon
- Kit Fisto
- Luminara Unduli
- Aayla Secura
- Commander Cody
- Captain Rex
- Commander Gree
- Clone trooper
- Commander Ponds
- Commander Bly
- Sergeant Kano
- Private Switch
- Sergeant Boomer
- Cad Bane
