The Legend of Heroes: Trails of the Beginning is referred to as a "cross story" in which various characters from Trails arcs make their appearance.

The games will be fully voiced. They will have a high speed skip mode, based on what was used in CS1 and 2 Kai. There will be a feature for skipping events in battle. The games will run at 60 FPS with high resolution images and increased sound quality.

Trails of the Beginning takes place after Trails of Cold Steel IV and follows three protagonists (represented as Heroes, Liberators and Hermits). Features over 50 playable characters and the game switches between the perspective of the three different protagonists."
