Thermaltake Lanbox Review
Introduction:
I would like to thank Thermaltake for supplying the review sample.
We all know how tedious it is to take a large computer to LAN parties. Carrying a 30 or even 40 pound PC to and from the LAN party makes some people wonder if the hassle is worth it. There are quite a few SFF (small form factor) cases out there, but there seems to be drawbacks like lack of space for big powerful graphic cards or inadequate power supplies for today's high end systems.
Thermaltake has designed a case with those problems in mind. The user can install the newest hardware and a power supply of their choice in the case. This gives the user the possibility to carry his entire computer comfortably with one hand. The Lanbox has a solid handle, so you will even have one hand free to wave everyone else good bye or hold the prices you won.
The Thermaltake Lanbox comes in two colors: black and silver. The different colors also denote the materials used. The black Lanbox is made of steel with an aluminum front while the silver Lanbox is constructed completely of aluminum. You can get both variants either with or without handle and window.
conclusion:
The Thermaltake Lanbox is the most robust and LAN party friendly case out there. There is no other case out there, which has the handle and comfort when going to and from a LAN party. That said, expect a very tricky installation as there is nothing standard about this case. Besides the unique installation, it is really hard finding anything else wrong with this case. Thermaltake has once again built a case which pushes the limits and introduces new functionality for a computer case. There is really no reason not to get this case, if you want the best portability and can afford the price tag. There are other cases out there which are cheaper, but none that let you use a full size power supply and give you the portability the Thermaltake Lanbox offers. It deserves the Editor's Choice award no matter how you look at it.
