Not true

Sony has confirmed that it'll be ceasing production on the PlayStation Vita, bringing the handheld's short-lived era to an end. Launching back in 2012, the PS Vita has had fairly mixed fortunes over the years, releasing in two different iterations. More to the point, however, Sony has no Vita successor planned.
This effectively ends Sony's almost 15-year dalliance in the handheld market with both the PSP and PS Vita, and a stab at taking on Nintendo's all-conquering 3DS with its crisp OLED touchscreen, rear trackpad and PlayStation 3-level visuals.
PlayStation VP Hiroyuki Oda made the announcement in an interview with Japanese mag Famitsu, proclaiming that PS Vita units have already stopped shipping to western territories, with production scheduled to end in Japan next year. PS Plus Vita and PS3 games are also set to be nixed by March 2019.
