Low demand makes Turion X2 unattractive for manufacturers

We just received word from several tier one notebook manufacturers that the original May 9 launch of Turion X2 has been pushed back. In late March we first heard from AMD insiders that Turion X2 was intended to launch on May 9, 2006, but there were already several folks who told us the processor was delayed. No reason for the delay was given on the official memos, though manufacturers tell DailyTech that demand for existing Turion notebooks is extremely low.

AMD recently advanced the release of the Athlon 64 AM2 socket launch from June 6, 2006 to May 23, 2006. Intel anticipates launching its second generation Core Duo processor for notebooks, Merom, sometime this summer.

    Muito má onda
Então quando sair o Merom ainda vai ficar pior...
