Roadmap Q3 this year the target
By INQUIRER staff: Tuesday 20 April 2004, 15:42
ROADMAPS VIEWED by the INQUIRER show that Via has already started sampling its PT890 chipset. And it's scheduled in June of this year for mass production.
Via is also sampling its AMD K8T890 chipset which supports PCI Express, and that's slated to be released in Q3 of this year. It has an integrated graphics version of this chipset. Both chipsets are suitable for Athlon 64s and Opterons.
The K8T890 supports 1GHz Hypertransport, giving 1GHz DDR 16-bit full duplex amounting to 2GT/second. The Via P4 chipset supports 800MHz system buses, dual 64-bit channels, DDR2/DDR1, PCI-Express and AGP 8X, and an Ultra V Link.
It will also sample its PM 890 DX9 chipset starting this July. This has integrated DeltaChrome from S3, presumably this is part of the ChromeEverywhereVision Nadim has in his mind. µ
