Wal-Mart's Saturday "Secret Sale" to Feature 80GB PS3 with 15 Free Movies

Wal-Mart to give customers 10 free Blu-ray movies instantly; five more come via MIR

If you thought that Wal-Mart and Best Buy’s $98 Toshiba HD-A2 HD DVD player was the last outrageous next generation format promotion that we'd see for a while, guess again. Whereas Toshiba, Wal-Mart and Best Buy successfully dumped the discontinued HD-A2 on the market, Wal-Mart's new promotion will take a slightly different approach.

According to a posting over at Blu-ray.com, Wal-Mart is having a Blu-ray promotion from 8AM this coming Saturday until midnight. Customers who come in to purchase a $499 80GB PS3 will be given ten Blu-ray movies for free -- instantly.

Keep in mind that the ten free titles from Wal-Mart are in addition to the five free titles that you can already receive direct from Sony via mail-in rebate. Unfortunately for the ultimate bargain shoppers, it appears that Wal-Mart's ten free Blu-ray promotion won't extend to the new entry-level $399 40GB PS3.

There's only one stipulation that customers have to adhere to in order to receive the 10 free movies: all titles must be priced below $30. Also, to ensure that stores don't run out of Blu-ray movies, Wal-Mart is taking some extra precautions.

“For those stores that carry BD already, additional titles are being sent in for the sale," according to Wal-Mart employee Vonscoot. "For those that do not have BD in their store (a small minority) product will be sent to each store specifically for this sale."

Vonscoot goes on to add that Saturday's Blu-ray promotion is one of four planned "Secret Sales" for the 2007 holiday season. There will be a link posted on Wal-Mart's site detailing promotion this Wednesday similar in fashion to Wal-Mart's last Toshiba HD-A2 promotion.

cumps ;)

15 por cada cliente?

Fikem bem!
