Wii A Shadow's Tale/Lost in Shadow/Shadow Tower (Hudson)

The unique Tower of Shadow’s story has been in the shadows for some time now but details of the game have come to light and we are here to bring them to you. The basic story is about a boy who goes to a odd world where he lives as a shadow, this play mechanic has a lot of potential so below are the details released so far.

-The biggest mechanic revealed so far is that you will be able to alter the shadows in the world by traveling through portals into the physical world and changing the layout of those shadows. In this world you will be a white being, the oopposite of a shadow basically

-Munipulate objects in the physical world by rotating pillars and moving blocks, etc.

-Will be able to change the light source that casts shadows

-Will be moving light sources for added difficulty

-Aiming for a 12 hour play time

-Don’t intend on “making the game repetitive” just to meet the 12 hour mark

-You will have a sword as a weapon, which will also be used as a key element

-Death is an underlining theme in the game, the game will be a true tragedy

-Will be far more interesting ways on making the game harder, can’t say anything more than that though

-Details on the story behind the Tower and boy are still up in the air right now, but the chief designer says “I would like for the users to actually experience this instead of spoiling it.”

Press Release:

Tower of Shadows gets renamed

In 2010, Hudson Entertainment will give gamers a glimpse into Lost In Shadow - a striking vision that follows a shadow of a boy as he attempts to climb around and up a mystical tower. Along the way, players must solve mysteries, puzzles and fight off enemies that try to impede the boy’s progress. Published by Hudson Entertainment, the North and South American publishing arm of Hudson, Lost In Shadow will be exclusive to Wii.

“Lost In Shadow is different from anything else seen on Wii before - mixing unique platform elements with levels of puzzles into a stylized environment for a beautiful gameplay experience,” said Dai Kudo, director of consumer products at Hudson Entertainment. “The innovative shadow-based gameplay and artistic vision makes Lost In Shadow a truly breakthrough concept in videogames.”

In Lost In Shadow, players are confronted with a mysterious Tower in an alternative world. The Tower is filled with moving shadows yet at the same time, casts a large shadow on everything beneath it. With the help of a winged sylph known as “Spangle,” players can move lights in the foreground to create new shadowy walkways to previously inaccessible areas. Unaffected by gravity while traveling through this medieval landscape, the shadow boy solves mysteries and fights off enemies who stand in his way. The game’s combination of light, shadow, background and foreground creates a unique blend of novel gameplay features, morphing landscapes and artistic visuals.

Isto muda tudo!!! (ao bom estilo da Sony :D ).

Muito bom trailer :)

IGN review: 8.5

A Shadow's Tale is one of the Wii's most beautiful and interesting games, both understated and deceptively deep. It never overuses one element or another, never dropping in a particular type of light or switch puzzle too often and changing things up just as you begin to suspect it's getting gimmicky. The core novelty of its gameplay never wears off, and the artistic direction is a constant source of pleasure. What with this and Limbo, it's an excellent year for the reimagined 2D platformer.

O jogo sai daqui a uma semana, portanto dia 15.
