[Wii] Mii Contest Channel (Miis come to life on Wii)

Nintendo disse:
12 November 2007 - It’s time to get those creative juices flowing as the Mii Contest Channel launches across Europe on Wii! This brand new creative Channel gives players the ability to create their own Mii characters using the Mii Channel and then transport their favourite Miis from the Mii Channel onto the Mii Contest Channel, entering them into fun and interactive contests. The Channel features two main arenas: Posting Plaza and Contests, to submit, view and judge Mii creations. Make sure you’ve got your Mii at the ready as the Mii Contest Channel launches on Wii across Europe today!

It couldn’t be simpler to get involved and enter a Mii on the new Channel! To get started, users register on the Mii Contest Channel as a Mii Artisan, selecting a Mii they have made in the Mii Channel to represent them.

Once registered as a Mii Artisan, users can upload Miis to the Posting Plaza, where other users from around the world can view them. Users can browse the 50 most popular Miis of all time, today’s top Miis or a random selection. When they see a Mii they like, users can add it to their favourites or even import it to their own Mii Channel. Each month the Channel displays the top 100 Mii Artisans and the top ranking Mii Artisan of the month is awarded the Master Mii Artisan award!

Users can also enter Miis for Contests, where they can be judged by other users across the globe. New contest themes are frequently added to the Channel, such as historical figures, literary characters, or simply a personality description and players will be challenged to create a Mii character under that subject. With up to four contests running at any onetime, every Mii has the chance to compete!

When the contest entry period finishes, it’s time for the judging phase. When it comes to the judging, all Miis entered will be split into groups of ten for users to evaluate. When judging comes to an end, the votes will be counted and the winning Miis will be announced. Players will be able to see how their Mii was rated and also how well the Miis they voted for did in the contest. The Channel will then calculate the player’s ‘Eye for Miis’ – a rating of how good the player is at picking winning Miis.

But that isn’t all! Players can view and take home any of the top 50 most popular Miis at the end of a contest, and for some special contests they might even receive a souvenir photograph of their entered Mii!

The Mii Contest Channel is unique to Wii and brings a new interactive, creative and community-based dimension to the console and the way in which it is used. The free new Channel can be downloaded from the Wii Software section of the Wii Shop Channel by those who have their Wii system connected to the Internet. In addition to the Mii Contest Channel there is already an existing roster of other fun and interactive informational Channels available to download, such as the News Channel, Forecast Channel and the Everybody Votes Channel. So make sure you’re ready for the Mii Contest Channel as it launches on Wii across Europe today!

:)

Tem com cada mii mais cómico!

31/01/2008
Download the new and improved Mii Contest Channel

If you’re a regular participant on the Mii Contest Channel you’ll know there’s nothing quite like the simple pleasure of seeing carefully created Miis that bear more than a passing resemblance to famous faces. Maybe you’ve even entered one of your own Miis into the Channel’s regular themed contests or shared your handiwork with the world by sending them to the Posting Plaza.
For all of those out there who have their Wii console connected to the Internet and have caught the Mii Contest Channel bug, you’ll be glad to know there are some changes that will make tuning in even more entertaining from today!
First up is the option of viewing all the Miis created by a particular Mii Artisan by just clicking on his or her face on the Profile menu. So if you just can’t get enough of someone’s work, this is the perfect way to see every one of their weird and wonderful creations!
The update will also allow you to recall any Miis you have previously posted and provide you with a list of all the Miis you have sent to the Posting Plaza, as well as affecting the way you judge Contests. From now on, if you cancel out of judging a Contest but wish to return later, data about any Miis you have selected for the Contest will be retained.
If you downloaded the Mii Contest Channel before 31 January, you can download the latest version now in order to take advantage of the new features. Simply go to the Wii Shop Channel then select the Mii Contest Channel from the Wii Software list. Your Mii Artisan and Favourites data will remain intact after you download the updated version.
If you haven’t taken part in the fun over on the Mii Contest Channel yet, you can get started today by downloading it for free from the Wii Software section of the Wii Shop Channel.
