That mystery Sega title which was hinted at in a teaser website last week has been revealed in advance on this pages of this week's Famitsu. Titled Pole's Big Adventure, this WiiWare game is not quite the Phantasy Star sequel you might have been expecting when it was revealed that Phantasy Star Universe producer Takao Miyoshi is serving as producer.
Pole's Big Adventure has 8-bit visuals and appears to have simple 8-bit side scrolling gameplay to match. In classic platforming style, you take control of main character Pole, and advance through the stages from left to right, avoiding obstacles. You can jump over enemies or shoot them, but touch anything, and you lose life.
The big charm of the game, it seems, is in its humor. Players will find over 100 gags hidden through the stages. As an example, one gag has your character eating up so many power ups (in the form of the mushroom that's on the current teaser site) that he turns into a giant, with his pixely feet nearly filling up the screen.
Will this be enough to warrant the 500 WiiPoint purchase price? We'll find out soon enough, as Pole's Big Adventure hits the Japanese WiiWare service on February 3.
The full official unveil for the title is still expected on Friday at the teaser site.
