Age of Conan is already out for PC gamers, letting them enter the wonderfully misogynistic world of Robert E. Howard's Conan. Developer Funcom, however, is still hard at work on a port of the MMO to the Xbox 360, which would make it the second MMO on the platform following the 2005 release of Final Fantasy XI. So, some may ask, why didn't the game launch with its PC counterpart?
In a statement made to Eurogamer, Erling Ellingsen established that Funcom's current priority is to fix issues associated with PC release and make sure that they don't exist in the console release. Erling also claimed that Funcom's plan was always to wait twelve months after the release of the PC version to release the Xbox 360 port.
However, with Age of Conan struggling in the crowded PC MMO market on top of the larger amount of work for the Xbox 360 release, including the rigorous certification for Xbox Live, rumors still persist that 360 owners may not get to maim and dismember in distant Hyboria.
