A utilização de DDR-2 com velocidade de 1GHz foi mesmo para tentar equilibrar a escolha do Bus de apenas 128bits...

Sim Nemesis, a R9800Pro de 256MB (do layout inicial, pq actualmente são iguais às R9800XT) tinha memórias DDR2 também.

Como consomem a mesma voltagem (só a GDDR3 é que consome metade), o calor gerado pelas mesmas é enorme.
