LONDON & SAN FRANCISCO (31st Jan 2010)— SEGA® Europe Ltd. and SEGA® of America, Inc. announced today that SEGA Rally Online Arcade™, a new HD title inspired by SEGA Rally Revo™ and SEGA Rally 3™, will be racing onto PlayStation® Network and Xbox LIVE® Arcade for the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft in 2011. SEGA’s arcade and console favourite will include a collection of new features, including the ability for gamers to race their friends online!

“We’ve blended our hit arcade racing series with the best elements from the console versions to bring our fans the SEGA Rally experience in compact, downloadable format,” said Haruki Satomi, Vice President of Digital Business at SEGA. “Whether they’re new to the SEGA Rally series or they’ve participated in countless races over the years, we’re confident everyone will enjoy the wide variety of features included in this fan favourite.”

SEGA Rally Online Arcade™ brings back all the features players could want from the popular arcade and console racer, including Championship Battle mode and Time Attack, while adding an exciting online racing mode that lets players battle it out with up to five drivers around the world. Featuring a brand new achievement system, 14 rally cars to choose from and online leaderboards, SEGA Rally Online Arcade will deliver lap after lap of intense rally action when it arrives on consoles in 2011.

Nice já tinha vistos os rumores mas afinal se confirmou, por essas imagens parece ter algum downgrade do SR Revo, é aguardar para ver a versão final.
 
Sou fa incondicional desta saga, fui viciado na saturn na primeira entrega, e na dreamcast no sega rally 2 e ainda jogo frequentemente neles. Este é uma compra certa, so falta vir a 800pontos para ser perfeito:D Entretanto a espero ansiosamente pelo daytona USA, para rcecordar aquelas batalhas de 8 jogadores na arcade, neste caso sera online:P

O Daytona não irá sair tão cedo, digo eu, já que faria sobreposição com este.

De qualquer maneira, o Daytona mesmo nunca sairia, já que a Sega já não tem a licença. A sair, será o Sega Racing Classic, que é a ultima versão sem a licença.
 
A SEGA anunciou que irá lançar para a Xbox 360 e PlayStation 3 um novo jogo de rally, intitulado de SEGA Rally Online Arcade.
O jogo será lançado no Xbox Live Arcade e na PlayStation Network, sendo portanto, apenas distribuído através de download.
O jogo é inspirado em Sega Rally Revo e Sega Rally 3, e permitirá aos jogadores correr online contra jogadores de todo o mundo.
Teremos corridas até um máximo de 6 jogadores e 13 carros de rally à nossa disposição. Também existirão os modos Championship Battle e Time Attack.
SEGA Rally Online Arcade será lançado em 2011, não havendo ainda uma data mais precisa.

Sega Rally Online Arcade preview: Something old, something kinda new
"It's not a brand new game. It's kind of a combination of Sega Rally 3, the arcade game, and Sega Rally Revo," Sega brand manager Ben Harbone explained to me during a GDC 2011 event. "It's got all of the gameplay characteristics from the arcade game -- it's running on the Arcade engine -- but with some of the Sega Rally Revo cars."

There are a total of 13 cars in Sega Rally Online Arcade, an Xbox Live Arcade and PlayStation Network bound title, spanning the more popular rally offerings like the Subaru WRX, Ford Focus and Mitsubishi Evo, along with five different tracks to zip around in.

Due to the launch of Sony's World Rally Championship last year, most of the cars in 2007's Sega Rally Revo are already licensed and couldn't be included in this game. As such, the offering is a bit more limited -- what you see here is what cars Sega could bring over. While the number of cars in the game is likely to upset some, it was the lack of unique feel for each car that disappointed me most.

"It's not a driving simulator,"Harborne said. "It's got arcade physics." Harborne's comment is the understatement of the century: Sega Rally Online Arcade handles like a stick of butter sitting on top of a block of ice which is itself inside of a teflon pan ... on a planet made of banana peels. In short: it feels very slippery. Imagine my surprise when I found the WRX didn't have nearly as much grip as it should've; it handles the same as the Puegot, as the Skoda and every other car in the game. Acceleration and top speed are more varied, however.

Sega Rally Online Arcade's biggest draw is easily the multiplayer. It supports up to six racers online and local split-screen multiplayer and when the consoles were networked at Sega's event, I began to see real promise. Playing against friends and battling for first was good times, albeit a bit dampened by the number of tracks on offer.

And it wouldn't be an arcade game without ridiculouos rubber-band AI, right? Much to my surprise, I found a difficulty setting that curbed this -- when turning on "casual" difficulty, the AI is a bit more relaxed. When it's set to "arcade," the race to first gets a bit more desperate.

Sega hasn't pinned a price point on Sega Rally Online Arcade yet, though all signs are pointing to $10. You'll be able to kick the tires on this quasi-port when it launchs on Xbox Live Arcade and PSN during Q2, this spring.

Descarreguei, experimentei e só tenho uma palavra: anedótico!
Isto é o Sega Rally Revolution! Os carros são os mesmos, as pistas são as mesmas, os gráficos são os mesmos, e a jogabilidade também é a mesma! Mas com menos carros, menos pistas e menos provas (provavelmente).
Enfim, os piores 1.22Gb que já gastei...

Não é o Revo, é uma mistura do SR3 com o revo mas com menos conteúdo como é óbvio, 4 pistas no campeonato e a 1ª pista do SR1 no classic.

Sim o Revo e o SR3 foram feitos pelo racing studio que a sega entretanto fechou e a codemasters comprou mais tarde.

Nota-se bastante que o piso não afecta tanto a condução como no Revo e a física é muito mais simples do que no Revo.

O port é da Sumo digital, não está mau mas claro, poderia estar bastante melhor.

Parece-me que os gráficos foram um bocado "toned down".

Comparando com o conteúdo do Outrun que também levou port "arcade", o outrun é claramente superior.
