Bem, testando o update:

O bug do acorda continua.
O wi-fi melhorou diria consideravelmente, carregar agora videos de 1080p, é praticamente instantâneo e em 2h, ainda não foi abaixo.
Parece mais rápido todo o sistema.

Porque não o investimento na nova? Eu sei que as specs são basicamente iguais mas existem pormenores que podem fazer a diferença como trazer o Oreo 8.1 ( e ter garantido update para o Pie 9 daqui a uns meses).

Só isto já me faria investir na Mi Box S.

Se fosse ao mesmo preço (como estava ontem) valia a pena ir para a nova, mas custando mais 20€ penso que não justifica.

Exatamente o mesmo que a mim. Tenho que usar obrigatoriamente Smarters IPTV porque comprei uma subscrição de iptv no *****. Só não se arrasta a imagem em canais HD se usar um player externo, mas tem o problema que assim não se torna intuitivo trocar de canal :(

I’m a mi box user in US and have a direct communication channel to Xiaomi Mi Box’s engineers. I will do my best to bridge the users here who have troubles with Oreo firmware with the dev team. Please let this thread be drama free.

Whenever I have new conversations with the devs, I will update here. They include but not are limited to what the devs are working on, which bugs are fixed and which bugs are discovered (by users in the comments). Keep in mind it is very hard to fix a bug if the dev can't reproduce it, so if you are providing new bugs, please be as detailed as possible. I have helped them fixed several bugs so far, I think the key is very detailed reproducing steps.

Update 11/06:

  1. The auto frame rate switching is top priority now. They already noticed wrxtasy’s hint, but fix is not trivial. Kernel fix is easy but a lot of modules in Android framework and Android hardware layers need to be changed. They also need to work with Amlogic on this so a lot of things are not in their control. This fix will not be included in the current OTA4 update, but likely in next OTA5

  2. Android P is planned with google! Development scheduled to start end of this year (likely). I think they are a bit short of hands since they also have Mi Box S to work with, but they did not give up this box.

  3. Please join https://www.facebook.com/groups/mibox/ the devs are there. It already has 7k users. I also introduced this place to the devs, hopefully in the future, the problem posted here is likely getting through.
Update 11/07: OTA4 RC2 is out for beta testers

Update 11/08: It looks like the OTA is approved by google and now everyone has received it.

Oreo OTA4 (2396) Fixed the following issues:

  1. when mi box wakes up from sleep, the user specified resolution such as 4k@60 might change to 480p or other low resolution.

  2. When user changes refresh rate in settings, it only changes display refresh rate, but system still think it is under the original refresh rate, resulting multiple apps misbehave, including Kodi. Kodi won’t play 1080p@24 video smoothly if user switches to 24fps in settings, unless reboot.

  3. WiFi stability.

  4. Google assistant recognition quality
The devs are testing the DD+ dropout issue but they can't reproduce it. I reproduced it on my soundbar, I may spend sometime to help this weekend.

If anyone still have the mibox won't wake up issue in the latest build 2396 after reset, please leave comments. I don't think this issue has been passed on yet, and it is really hard to reproduce. I had it a few times on 2303 and 2179, but none in recent month. Then again I'm using an IR remote to wake the box up.

Fiz a actualização ontem e nunca mais deu sinal de quebra no wi-fi e quer ontem quer hoje ligou à primeira vez que carreguei no botão.
A ver vamos se é temporário ou se resolveu de vez.
 
Pessoal alguém que já tenha testado ou possa testar o Steam link na mibox me pode dar um feedback ?
A minha sempre que clico em começar a jogar fica com o ecrã preto

Eu comprei um Xiaomi Mi Box e comprei um adaptador ethernet e liguei e fico logo a trabalhar e recebe bem o sinal. Mas o que acontece é que quando desligo a box o adaptador não arranca com a box. Tenho que desligar e voltar a ligar ao USB e fica a trabalhar ou então ir aos comandos de programados e activar a depuração USB e voltar a desativar e o adaptador assim já arranca por ele e fica a trabalhar. Alguém pode acaso sabe alguma maneira de resolver para que ele arranque com a box.

Isso acontece porque esse adaptador não suporta wakeonlan.. com o meu acontece a mesma coisa.
Acho que a única solução é mesmo deixar a box sempre ligada..
Existe um da ugreen 3.0 que suporta essa função.. mas é chato estar a comprar outro
 
DEpois de muito pensar, acho que vou optar por esta box.
Pelo que já li as diferenças para a S não são assim tão grande. A nivel de preço até fica abaixo do que cheguei a pensar investir.
