Xiaomi teases Mi Watch and Mi TV ahead of next week’s event

Xiaomi is outing the Mi CC9 Pro/Mi Note 10 next Tuesday, and the phone will be accompanied on stage by a Mi Watch and a new Mi TV 5. We learned the key specs of the phone earlier today, but the company also lifted the curtain a little bit to show more of the upcoming gadgets.

The wearable will look a lot like the Apple Watch with its square screen and one button on the upper right side, while the TV is advertised with NTSC at 108% and 4K quantum-dot technology.

The NTSC color gamut (not to be confused with the TV standard) is developed for the range of colors that the human eye can see.

Looking back at the Mi Watch, the company CEO called it “a smartphone for your wrist”, since it will have Wi-Fi, GPS, NFC, proper Qualcomm chipset - everything you would expect from such a wearable. The excitement in the company comes from the fact that this is the first time Xiaomi is launching a smartwatch under its Mi brand.

Arriving in Black or Silver, the device should be a more affordable solution than what Apple is currently selling for $399. There are seven more days until the products are launched, so we expect more details to follow soon.

Xiaomi Mi Watch shown on video, will run MIUI for Watch

After yesterday’s confirmation that the upcoming Xiaomi Mi Watch which will go official alongside the Mi CC9 Pro/ Mi Note 10 on November 5, we have the first hands-on tour of the smartwatch.

After unlocking the device we see a simple 3x3 app grid with square icons and a dark background which hints that MIUI for Watch will support a built-in dark mode just like its smartphone counterpart. We also get to see the digital crown in action which can be used to navigate the interface and also acts as a power button. Oddly enough the user loads up a video on the small watch screen which proceeds to play as the teaser comes to an end.

In addition, we also got a short promo video of MIUI for Watch which shows the continuity in the design language between it and the full-blown MIUI for smartphones.

The Xiaomi Mi Watch will ship with the Snapdragon Wear 3100 SoC and will feature GPS, NFC, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth connectivity alongside eSIM capabilities for added autonomy. The Mi Watch will be available in White and Black. Pricing is still unknown but given that the release date is coming up soon we should be getting more clues in the days to come.

Woooooowwwww
Isto promete !!!

Xiaomi Mi Watch goes official with MIUI-skinned Wear OS

Alongside the brand new Mi CC9 Pro, Xiaomi also unveiled its Mi Watch - the first smartwatch to bear the Mi branding. It brings some serious features so much so that Xiaomi is marketing the devices as a "small phone on your wrist”.

The watch comes with a 1.78-inch AMOLED screen with always-on capabilities housed in a 44mm casing. The back is made from ceramic and there is a single button and crown on the right-hand side that are used to operate the interface. The left houses a single speaker and microphone. There’s also Bluetooth, NFC and eSIM support which allow the smartwatch to function completely autonomously.

The Mi Watch runs on Xiaomi’s MIUI for watch on top of Google’s Wear OS - the first customized version of the Google smartwatch platform to date. MIUI for watch has 40+ built-in apps and a separate app store that is now open for third-party developers. It also brings all the usual fitness tracking features including swim tracking and is compatible with Firstbeat’s performance analytics which gives you a detailed breakdown of your heart rate data based on different exercises.

Under the hood, we have the Snapdragon Wear 3100 4G chipset paired with 1 GB RAM and 8GB storage. Battery life is rated at up to 36 hours of continuous use with 4G turned on. Xiaomi used a 570 mAh battery inside the MI Watch, which is the biggest cell ever put in a smartwatch.

For now, the Mi Wach will remain exclusive to China and there’s no word on international availability. It’s scheduled to hit the Chinese market on November 11 and will retail for CNY 1,299 ($185).

There’s also a Premium Edition Mi Watch which comes with a sapphire crystal screen, stainless steel frame and band. That one will go for CNY 1,999 ($285) and is expected to come out before the end of the year.
