Rev Controller Does Webslinging

Nintendo's new generation console to host a ground-up version of Spider-Man 3.

March 23, 2006 - IGN Revolution has learned that Activision will publish a version of Spider-Man 3 built specifically for Nintendo's next generation console, still codenamed Revolution. The game will make use of the system's innovative new controller to manipulate Spidey through the virtual universe. Specific details in this regard were not provided, but IGN speculates that the freestyle unit could be utilized to aim and cast webs, which would in turn accurately guide the hero about the city environments he explores.
Activision has formally announced that it is planning to have at least one Revolution title ready during the first four months of the system's launch. However, IGN believes that the publisher's launch game is unrelated to the Spider-Man franchise. Further details about this project, and others, are expected to be made known at the Electronics Entertainment Expo 2006, which kicks off this May in Los Angeles.

Call of Duty Revolution

Activision is apparently one of the companies excited about the Revolution's Revmote controller, as they've apparently decided to bring the Call of Duty series to Nintendo's Revolution. Got-Next reports that its "spy pirates" uncovered the Call of Duty info and 1UP can confirm to have heard similar rumblings (though not from any spy pirates).
Even though Activision responded to our inquiry with little more than a "...," it's probably safe to say that a CoD title is in development for Nintendo's next console.

The Revolution will be getting a totally exclusive sword-fighting game, courtesy of an un-named third party! Details inside...

According to AMN, an exclusive violent action game featuring swordplay is soon to be annouced for the Revolution (possibly at E3). Sources within Nintendo Europe have confirmed the title's existance, though the game is being developed by a third-party.

Apparently, other sources have confirmed that leading third-party developers Ubisoft are developing what has been described as a first-person shooter code-named "Katakana" for the Revolution, which also features swordplay, and will also be an exclusive. It is highly possible that this and the un-named title are one and the same, as both are described as adult and violent, though nothing is certain at this time.

Indie Watch: The Joy of Revolution Painting

Nintendo has noted that their next-generation console, code-named Nintendo Revolution, will not only have affordable development kits, thousands of dollars cheaper than that of our current generation, but also be designed similar to the GameCube to ease developers into making games. Indie Watch is a segment examining the progress of independent teams and their ideas for the system.

We would like to note to our readers that the information we received regarding this game is not an April Fools joke on our behalf. We did in fact receive an e-mail from this company and contacted them regarding the game.

Revolution Report contacted Joseph Hatcher, director of development of AGFRAG, about two recent site postings of a Bob Ross video game on their site and bobross.com. Ross, deceased for 11 years now, oil painted artwork on a show entitled "The Joy of Painting" on public broadcast television. The show became famous in the early 80s.

Recently, several sites (including our own) received an e-mail response from Hatcher stating that "the press release is NOT a joke, but the side effect of people thinking it is might help us get noticed more." To investigate this further, Revolution Report asked Hatcher about the status of the game.

I really don't know what to expect of this title yet, but it's apparently a launch game for Revolution courtesy the good folks at Activision. No official announcement, but multiple sources have said it's on the way. I suppose it has something to do with downhill skating. Or maybe not. But whatever the case, it's always good to see the Hawk on a new platform. I hope Activision does something interesting with the controller.

Ubisoft Confirms Rayman 4

Ubisoft announced Rayman 4 is coming to current and next-generation platforms (including the Revolution). Ubisoft Montpellier is developing the title, which is being helmed by original creator Michael Ancel (more recently of Peter Jackson's King Kong fame). Rayman 4 is another title from an allegedly leaked list of what Ubisoft is planning for 2006. The Rayman announcement should make gamers wonder if other titles from the list will surface this year. Lumines 2, Tom Clancy's Firehawk? Only time will tell.

Pilotwings Revolution

The latest issue of EGM has confirmed that Nintendo is indeed working on a sequel to Pilotwings, which last graced the N64. A lot of us were holding out for a Cube version of Pilotwings, but we now know that the chance for that has come and gone. As with any magazine articles, if anyone could manage to get a scan of the article in question for final proof, it would be very appreciated.

muito boas noticias...

The latest Famitsu has a juicy bit indeed - the sequel to the Sega Saturn hit NiGHTS Into Dreams may be soaring onto the Revolution.

From the trenches of popular messageboard (Neo)GAF comes some very welcome rumour-age: the latest issue of Famitsu includes an oh-so-brief aside about the development of the long-awaited sequel to the Sega Saturn classic NiGHTS into Dreams. The good news is, this is less a rumour and more a tantalizing hint at what to expect in the next issue of Famitsu, purportedly to feature a blowout of several heretofore unannounced Revolution titles. (The bad news is: that next issue isn't here yet and our enthusiasm is now buzzing at a dangerous high.) We will certainly upgrade the game from "rumour" to "blessedly upcoming" once concrete details are available.

For gamers not in the know, NiGHTS is the brainchild of Sonic the Hedgehog creator Yuji Naka and ushered in the Saturn's post-release introduction of its analog gaming pad (certainly a direct response to Nintendo's then-revolutionary N64 controller, but also a necessity for the game's graceful flight mechanics). NiGHTS has since been one of Naka's most oft-requested sequels and the game seems to be coming together now at the perfect time on the perfect platform for its gameplay - thanks to the Revolution controller. Rest assured we will not blink until details (and screens) of this title are available for your perusal.

Lista actualizada(1º post).

[thread ressurect]

The leaked list from March shows Assassin's intended as a multiplatform title:

Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six 5 (PS3, Xbox 360, Rev, PC, PSP)
Assassin (PS3, Xbox 360, Rev, PC, PSP)
Rayman 4 (PS3, Xbox 360, Rev, PC, PS2, handheld)
Source: http://1up.com/do/newsStory?cId=3151655&did=1

Ubisoft Montreal Talks Revolution

"I can say definitely, as any other developer, we are looking at this magical platform, and we want to be part of the adventure. You know already that Red Steel is made public in Game Informer. That's an exclusive Ubisoft title, made in Ubisoft Paris. And I'm pretty sure we'll see other Revolution games from Ubisoft. And some of them, I'm sure, will be made from Montreal.
