Mobility Radeon X1800 finally makes a showing

M58 in Eurocom's notebook

EUROCOM has a machine that finally features the ATI's M58, Mobility Radeon X1800XT inside.

We first saw R58 up and running before New Year's Eve but it has taken until now to make it into a notebook. The company offers a configuration featuring Intel's Core Duo CPU with ATi Mobility Radeon X1800XT VGA along with 256MB of DDR3 VRAM and claims a super-fast gaming performance on the move.

The EUROCOM M570U Divine sports a 17-inch Widescreen display with WUXGA 1920x1200 resolution with 16x9 aspect ratio. It supports all Intel Core Duo CPUs up to 2.26 GHz and the machine comes with up to 160GB SATA hard drive. You can also plug in an additional hard drive or optical device. If you prefer mobility there is a space for an extra battery pack. The machine comes with a Multi DVD burner.

We are not sure about the clock speeds of the R58, Mobility Radeon X1800 XT, but we are sure that the performance can match or at least come close to Nvidia's latest notebook offering. A more advanced M59, Mobility Radeon X1900 XT should be just around the corner as well.

The new M570U model comes equipped with a desktop-like full-size 102-key keyboard that includes the numeric part. The system measures 397x294x22mm and weighs in at a quite nice 3.8 KG. The boxes are scheduled for April 2006 shipping. µ

EDIT

ATI leads a week of graphics news with rollout of Mobility X1800, X1800 XT
Markham (ON) - Citing figures from Mercury Research that give it a 77% market share in the so-called "Mobile Discrete" market space (after having claimed 72.5% just last December, based on IDC's numbers), ATI made its next step into the high-performance mobile graphics space with the introduction today of its Mobility Radeon X1800 and X1800 XT, the mobile counterparts to similarly designated desktop GPU cards ATI introduced last October.
