Me so horny
TODAY'S edition of the People's Daily reports that boffins have put together a CPU which has many of the properties of the Intel Pentium III.
With some important differences. The Godson II, claims the politburo rag, has 64-bit performance supporting Linux and Xwindows. It beats the performance of the earlier Godson I by 10 times, it appears. It can clock at 500MHz.
There is another important difference between the Godson II and the Pentium III. It doesn't use the familiar Intel swirl, because that would really get the boys in Mission Boulevard riled.
Now that China has got to the stage of a Pentium III apparently with 64-bit iAMD like instructions, we have some advice for the people designing these chips, which will be mass marketed and manufactured by the Jiangsu Meglan Group.
Don't ever claim performance equivalence to the Pentium IV or ever use the term Netburst. Instead, move swiftly to a Pentium M equivalent, preferably with two, four or more cores. µ
