DDR2 prices to fall 10% in 1H December

With memory makers feeling pressure to improve their quarterly/yearly financial results by releasing more product into the market, PC OEMs should be able to push down mainstream DRAM contract prices further for the first half of December with the price of 512Mbit DDR2 533 expected to drop about 10% sequentially, according to market research firm InSpectrum.

On the one hand, memory makers will be encouraging PC OEMs to source more chips in December. However, PC OEMs are beginning to enter a cyclical downturn in December, and are under no pressure to increase their orders.

DDR prices will also continue dropping in the first half of December, with the drop for 256Mb DDR 400 forecast to fall 5.7%.

Realmente actualmente as DDR2 estão ao nivel das DDR1 em termos de preço e em alguns casos até mais barato 8o

o problema é q kuando o m2 vier vai aumentar mt a procura o q pode criar problemas de stock e consekuentemente o aumento do preço... hope i'm wrong

a DDR2 neste momento esta mais barata que DDR1 (passa se o mesmo com PC133-DDR)
um stick oem de 256mb ddr esta a 24-25€ enquanto DDR2 esta 20-21€ E 512ddr2 a 39€ é muito bom

O problema é que dificilmente baixa mais, pois a produção excessiva obrigou os fabricantes a adoptar preços de venda quase ao nível do preço de custo, encolhendo fortemente as margens de lucro:

E o DDR3 não está aí quase a chegar? Li qualquer sobre a AMD já estar a planear usar DDR3 nos próximos processadores, só não me lembro quando.

Mas a DDR2 ainda n está mais barata para as mems para OC.

Quando entrar o AMD tb n vai modificar muito ja k tem uma cota de mercado muito mais pekena.
