Dúvida NTFS

Ouvi dizer que o Linux é incompativel mas também já me disseram que o novo Ubuntu não tem esse problema. Alguém me pode esclarecer?

O Linux não é incompatível com o NTFS.
Por predefinição é que pode não permitir a escrita e leitura.
Mas com a 'aplicação' certa é possível (e.g. NTFS-3G).

No Ubuntu (7.10) em especifico:

Trocando por miúdos: O NTFS é uma tecnologia Microsoft, e até há bem pouco não a podias utilizar no Linux. Depois já podias mas tinhas que instalar uma cena. Agora (gutsy gibbon) já podes utilizar a vontade. Em resumo, não tens nada com que te preocupar se estás a usar a última versão do Ubuntu. Outras distros não sei.
