Logitech Releases New Wireless Mice, Including first with Bluetooth
Logitech has released several new wireless mice for the desktop and mobile platforms. One of which is being dubbed as the first “Smart Mouse”, the MX610, it can conduct 2-way communications with your PC and provide email or IM instant notifications; Blue Light for E-Mail, Orange Light for IM. Also their latest mobile mouse, and their first Bluetooth V270, requires no dongles or wireless transceivers to connect to your Bluetooth supported notebook.
The Logitech V400 Laser Cordless mouse is available immediately for US $49.99. The Logitech LX7 is next, with a US release shortly and European release later this month for a price of US $39.99. The MX610 is expected out in October for US $59.99, and the V270 for US $49.99 in November.
Logitech LX7 Cordless Optical Mouse
The Logitech LX7 Cordless Optical Mouse is a stylish, ambidextrous cordless mouse with advanced battery management features. A built-in battery indicator light glows green when the battery life is good, and blinks red when 1-2 weeks of battery life remain. To further extend battery life, the mouse has an on/off button on the base of the mouse and invisible optical tracking technology that conserves power but tracks better than previous red LED optical mice.
The mouse uses two AA batteries, but can operate on only one for those who prefer the mouse to be more lightweight. The mouse includes Logitech's Tilt Wheel Plus Zoom scroll wheel, which allows people to effortlessly scroll left, right, up and down, and zoom in and out of digital photos, Web pages and open documents. It also features integrated forward and back buttons.
Logitech V400 Laser Cordless Mouse
With dual-laser tracking technology and a storable 2.4 GHz digital cordless micro-receiver, this high-performance, rugged notebook PC mouse is designed to work virtually anywhere -- whether it's at home, in the conference room, or on a weekend expedition.
The mouse can operate on two AA batteries but only requires a single AA battery, which helps keep the weight down for frequent travelers. Also, the mouse automatically turns off when the receiver is inserted into the storage slot -- helping to extend battery life.
Logitech MX610 Laser Cordless Mouse
The world's first mouse to receive and process wireless communication from the PC, the Logitech MX610 Laser Cordless Mouse notifies users when the mouse battery is low or when an instant message or e-mail is received. Using Logitech software, users can customize IM and e-mail notifications to alert them to messages from specific people. It knows when the computer is on or off and it changes its own power status accordingly.
The Logitech MX610 Laser Cordless Mouse includes a USB micro-receiver that connects instantly with the mouse when it is plugged into a desktop or a notebook PC. As the mouse and wireless receiver send information back and forth, the mouse periodically may sense a wireless interruption or interference. In a matter of moments, the mouse seamlessly shifts the wireless channel until it finds one that is interference-free. The micro-receiver eliminates clutter created by larger corded receivers.
Logitech V270 Cordless Optical Notebook Mouse for Bluetooth
The Logitech V270 is the first cordless mouse from Logitech to ship without a receiver. Using Bluetooth wireless technology, the mouse can connect with notebook PCs and Apple PowerBook notebooks that have an integrated Bluetooth receiver. It provides mobile professionals a one-piece, ultra-portable alternative to the touchpad.
The mouse, charcoal gray in color, uses Bluetooth 1.2 wireless technology, which features adaptive frequency hopping to reduce the chance of interference from other 2.4 GHz wireless devices such as Wi-Fi notebooks or cordless telephones.
