All the excitement about DFI had me forgetting another board which i will be testing over the next few weeks. Asus have released what could possibly be the finest i965 board we will see. Codenamed commando the board is part of the ROG line of boards which also have crosshair and Strker extreme as members.

I have the board and can say I have not yet tested a board that overclocks DDR2 better than this one, if you want to run 1300+DDR this is the board for you

Voltage options are nothing short of stunning, i will post screen shots in the next 24hrs so sit tight. Tests to come in the nex week or so.

1 pic for your enjoyment, you may see others posted as Asus gave a sneek peek of the board here in taiwan at the 1st OCZ Overclocking summit.

yeah Have seen Abits new one too

AB9 QuadGT:
updated AB9 board, better layout. Supports Quad core, and has 2 PCIe 16x graphics slots (only 8x bandwidth to each). Has Silent OTES. Maybe uses ICH7R (instead of ICH8 ) to add IDE slot and 2 less SATA ports without using extra controller. This would help accomodate 2 PCIe 16x slots as well.

The other item we saw from ASUS today is their new P965 Commando board that is designed for serious overclocking. The sample system has has been able to reach up to 585FSB and in memory testing it was running 4GB of OCZ Flex XLC memory at DDR2-1116 (5-5-5-15) for over 24 hours dual prime stable on 2.15V. This system has hit DDR2-1150 with 4GB while running some game and test benchmarks. In a 2GB configuration the system was capable of running up to DDR2-1350 (5-5-5-18) and should reach DDR2-1400 once BIOS tuning is completed. This speed required 2.5V but that is within the OCZ memory spec for their new Flex-XLC series.

foi hoje lançada a ABIT :

abit Introduces the AB9 QuadGT Motherboard

abit today announced their latest Intel P965 chipset based motherboard for Core 2 Quad/Duo processors, the abit AB9 QuadGT. This motherboard has been specifically engineered for and around LGA775 quad-core CPUs with up to 1066 MHz FSB. It is equipped with abit's powerful µGuru technology for extensive hardware monitoring and control. The extreme tuning and overclocking capabilities of this exclusively abit engineered microchip stands unsurpassed in the industry. With the New Year, abit also ushers in an entirely new generation of extreme computing.

Cool, Stable, Efficient and Extreme
The AB9 QuadGT is geared towards extreme performance. Accompanying the native support for Intel's latest quad-core and Extreme Edition CPUs, abit took measures for an even higher performance potential to be explored by the users themselves. A 6-layer board layout equipped with 100% Japanese made solid state capacitors and ceramic digital PWMs warrant the best electrical characteristics under the most stable currents. abit's patented Silent OTES convection heat-pipe design keeps the Northbridge as well as the digital PWMs efficiently cool. These abit engineered features prolong your the life of your motherboard product and dramatically increase durability by protecting vital components from strenuous thermal and electrical stress.

Games, Multimedia and Full Action
The AB9 QuadGT motherboard does not only have extreme power under the hood, it is also ready for full on gaming and multimedia action. Two X16 PCIe slots offer a wide range of multiple graphics options. Despite one of the X16 PCIe slots only supporting PCIe X4 bandwidth, it still caters adequately to most of today's graphics needs, including CrossFire operation. Alternatively you can also use this slot for other PCIe cards such as LAN, RAID, TV or audio add-on cards. A simple and flexible solution that serves almost any high-speed expansion demands. The 3-pin HDMI header connects with HDMI ready graphics cards, offering crisp HD audio.

6 internal SATA 3Gb/s and 2 eSATA connectors for the fastest hard drives on the market form the basis for more than sufficient storage capacity, while the single Ultra DMA 133/100/66/33 IDE connector provides the option to keep your older optical drives and HDDs running.

Digital PWM - cool and stable for a longer life
With abit's digital PWM controller there is more efficiency at a stabilized voltage, which can handle heavy data throughput at higher CPU clock speeds. In addition the digital PWM disperses and manages power better, providing complex power solutions with multiple switch options. Enhancing the longevity and durability of motherboard's components.

+1a board com Digital PWM, vamos lá ver o que sai desta...axo k tem td para estar ao nivel das p5b... deve ser ela por ela.

Venham as reviews.

btw gosto também destas partes...

External CCMOS Switch - get back on track with ease
Clear the CMOS memory directly from the back panel, using abit's innovative new EZ switch. So if you are pushing your hardware to the extreme and experiment with risky settings, you now have a an easy and convenient way to go back to save grounds.

HDMI Ready Header
Unique HDMI Audio header provides audio output to HDMI VGA card, which allows the system to connect HDMI devices. Each VGA card sold with HDMI capabilities needs access to the audio header to become a true HDMI (Full HD Video and 5.1 surround sound) port.

2 x eSATA - fast & fiexible
eSATA is a new standard for external storage devices. With an external data transfer rate of up to 3 Gb/s no other external data transfer solution can compete with speed and ease of use.

Penso que deve ir mais ou menos para o mesmo preço da nova Asus Commando que tb tem external CCMOS , etc , sao mto parecidas :

Asus Commando

]Like other ASUS RoG boards, there is a Debug LED at the rear panel. If you don't see audio ports, it's because the board uses an expansion audio card.

Unlike some boards that put LCDs for show, the ASUS Commando has LCDs in strategic locations to help users read PCB labels.

qual é a diferença etre os digitais pwm e os normais??

PWM - Pulse Width Modulation.
