Remodelação de MacBook Pro 2009

Boas,

Gostaria de saber a vossa opinião sobre a "remodelação" que estou a levar a cabo no meu MacBook Pro de meados de 2009.
Pois bem, com a lentidão que já começa a apresentar decidi dar-lhe um SSD, mais RAM e colocar uma optibay para lá por o HDD que tenho agora.

No SSD escolhi o Samsung 830 256Gb.

Quanto à RAM, há grandes diferenças entre marcas? Estava a pensar ou nestas Kingston ou nestas Corsair. Ambas a 1333MHz e CL9.

Depois uma outra dúvida que tenho é a bateria, vale a pena investir numa bateria original da Apple em que me pedem sempre ~120€? Ou será melhor optar por uma das muitas que existem no ebay, amazon, e afins, a 50/60€? Digo isto porque a minha bateria já diz: "Service Battery", e de facto já não dura como dantes.

Estou aberto a sugestões!

Eu nunca optaria por um disco Samsung pela má experiência que já tive com 2 HDD desta marca. Em relação às memórias também considerava as da Crucial.

Estive para mandar vir essas da Amazon, mas acabei por comprar outras, mais baratas, apenas 31.01£. Estas são 1333MHz.

Quanto ao disco acabei por encomendar o 840 256 Gb também da Amazon, por 130£.
Quanto ao 840 vs 830, pelo que vi e li o 830 é mais rápido e também é tido como mais fiavel. Além de ser mais duradouro, pois usa memórias MLC em vez da TLC usada no 840. O 840 Pro também usa MLC mas é bem mais caro.

Quanto ao preço do 830, já não se produzem e os que sobram estão a ser vendidos quase ao preço do 840 Pro. Principalmente porque no inicio tanto o 840 como o 840 Pro deram bastantes problemas, que entretanto já foram resolvidos.

Portanto, depois de encomendadas a RAM, o SSD e a caddy + caixa externa para a drive óptica.

Fica agora a faltar a bateria e aqui sim está a minha maior duvida quanto ao fornecedor, e ao preço.

Mas o teu MAC suporta 1333 MHz? O meu apenas 1066MHz e e' o mbp mid 2010.

Já tenho o SSD Samsung 840 250Gb e as memórias de 8Gb a 1333MHz instalados e reconhecidos pelo OS X. Sendo que fiz instalação limpa no SSD. E não estou a usar o outro HDD por ainda não ter a optibay.

Mas estou com um problema, o computador já entrou 3 vezes em kernel panic desde as 8 da noite, conseguem ver pelos logs qual a razão disso?

Sendo que só instalei ainda o transmission, o flash player, a steam e o iwork. Sendo que estavam a correr o transmission e a steam. Mas da primeira vez estava apenas o transmission.
Na segunda vez que aconteceu, o computador estava "sozinho", estando apenas com várias janelas do safari abertas, itunes aberto e transmission também.

kernel panic e mudança de memórias na mesma linha para mim é das memórias.

Tive umas memórias da adata que não davam qualquer erro no memtest e que tinha kernel panic de hora a hora. Trocadas as memórias resolverem-se os problemas.

Eu penso que já tinha dito para se ter cuidado com a RAM. Na duvida é ir para a crucial. Ver no site deles que têm kits.
 
Eu também vinha dizer que isso tem, quase de certeza, a ver com a RAM. Sendo que compraste da Corsair, marca que eu também tenho e conceituada, não me parece que estejam a dar problemas por si só. O que na minha opinião está a acontecer, é que colocaste umas de 1333MHz num bus que apenas suporta 1066MHz, pelo que tenta sacar uma das slots fora, coloca uma das "antigas" para forçar os 1066MHz e vê se continua a dar os tais KPs.
 
Pois, também foi a minha primeira suspeita. Durante a noite, e depois de muita luta para instalar o memtest numa pen usb para boot, deixei-o a correr via Single User Mode depois de o ter instalado no mac.
Não deu qualquer tipo de problema nos testes que foram feitos.

Antes disso tive uma hora e meia com a RAM que tinha antes 2x2Gb a 1333MHz. Entretanto estou novamente com os 2x4Gb que comprei e até agora nada ainda.

Vamos lá ver.

Quanto à bateria tem alguma sugestão?

morgoph se fosse pela velocidade as outras também crashavam não? É que não faz muito sentido ser por isso. Quanto a devolver, vieram da amazon.co.uk portanto com portes ao barulho não faz sentido, só se tiverem defeito mesmo.

No meu caso o memtest também não deu qualquer problema mas tinha kernel panic de hora a hora.

Vais ter que trocar as memórias. Aliás tu próprio dás a solução. Colocaste as memórias antigas e está tudo bem.
 
Sim, a vir daí é a solução. Mas entretanto hoje ainda não voltou a acontecer.

Vou sair agora de casa e vou deixar o portatil ligado com VLC e Quicktime a rodar videos, iTunes a rodar música, safari com muitas tabs abertas, photoshop e FM abertos também. A ver se ele se desliga até à meia noite novamente.

Caso volte a acontecer lá vão para trás.

Isto achando eu que o problema que causou aquilo pode já ter sido ultrapassado agora. Ou não existirá tal coisa? Má colocação das memórias poderia causar um kernel panic? Só para saber anyway.

Parece que ficou mesmo resolvido. O portatil está a funcionar nas horas! Só é pena a bateria já estar morta, mas vem nova a caminho.
Sendo que tal como tinha dito o portátil reconheceu as memórias e estão a funcionar a 1333MHz.

Já agora, o SSD ficou com o TRIM ligado após correr o TRIM Enabler.

Está bem mais rápido! As aplicações abrem quase instantaneamente. Já o boot é que não é assim tão rápido como já li por aí, apesar de ser bem mais rápido do que era antes. Arranca nuns 10s.

Investindo na bateria nova tenho portatil para mais uns anos valentes!
