"July 4th will see the launch of Samsung’s new 7 megapixel phone (SCH –V770) from Korea’s top wireless carrier SK Telecom. An earlier version of this phone was already launched in March at the CeBit show in Germany. The phone has a misleading look of being strictly a camera, it can have you fuddled for a few mintues but not to worry, the phone is very much there on the back side. If the phone’s performance is as good as the company claims it to be, then this can be an excellent tool for photographers and mobile reporters that wish to travel light.
Samsung has built this phone keeping in mind a wide range of add-ons that can be attached with ease. You can even attach a wide-angle or tele-conversion lens, which ever suits your purpose.
Other additional features of the cdma2000 1x EV-DO (800Mhz) V770 have been enhanced to a high degree to give better audio quality. The camera phone has a lot of things going for it and is perfect for users who are looking at the latest gizmo with a ton of features.
It will sell for 990,000 won (US $960), the highest price ever for a mobile phone in Korea. The V770 sports 256MB of internal memory and 32MB of MMC external memory, 3X optical zoom, 5X digital zoom capability and auto-focus function, as well as an MP3 player, business card reader, 64 polyphonic sounds are others which come standard on the phone (or should I call it a camera?)
