The title will join a series of books, video games, and graphic novels, which all fall under the umbrella of Deus Ex: Universe, a new saga that will expand the franchise “on a regular basis.”
“The concept behind Deus Ex: Universe is to create an ongoing, expanding and connected game world built across a generation of core games,” said Eidos Montreal studio head David Anfossi. ”It’s a commitment on our part to deliver meaningful content that expands the franchise on a regular basis and to deliver a deep conspiracy that will span several connected Deus Ex games, creating a more immersive and richer experience than ever before. Deus Ex: Universe will include PC and console games, but also additional Deus Ex games and experiences available in other media such as tablets, smartphones, books, graphic novels, etc… You might have seen the name pop up recently in the press – well this is what it’s all about.
“I’m pleased to confirm that we are already into production of the starting point for Deus Ex: Universe with a new game for PC and next-generation consoles. We’re very excited about it at the studio and I wanted to let you know that most of the team behind Deus Ex: Human Revolution is already working hard on this new game. It took us four years to learn how to create a unique Deus Ex experience with Human Revolution and it was important for me to keep this knowledge within the franchise.”
Pah,por um lado, noticias espectaculares.Estava com medo que estivessem agora a trabalhar no Hitman que é suposto a Eidos Montreal fazer,mas sendo assim é bom que a mesma equipa já esteja a obrar.
Por outro lado fico preocupado com aquela ideia de universo e espalhar os jogos por múltiplas plataformas(os tablets em particular, no caso dos smartphones não acredito em jogos a "sério"). Espero que isto seja um plano longo,algo para uns 10 anos, para não ter jogos a sair uns em cima dos outros como o COD e o AC. É que isso gasta uma marca. 2 em dois 2 no mínimo dos mínimos,e aqui falo dos jogos para consola e pc. É que eles dão a entender que agora que já aprenderam 4 anos de espera não vai ser preciso,mas tenho medo que os comecem a cuspir cá para fora a alta velocidade.
