bem me parecia..
enfim.. mas parece me grandes boards! X-Fi on board?? Deve ser bem melhor que as Realtek e SoundMAx, e estas ultimas nas boards de topo da ASUS já era uma boa placa..
o futuro promete ser extra rápido!! parece que vamos ver um salto de gigante no final deste ano...

a msi ja usava chips de audio da creative faz algum tempo ,por exemplo a p6n diamond (nvidia 680i) ja usa o x-fi extreme audio ...
ate agora do que vi ,a placa de referencia da intel "parece-me" a melhor a nivel de layout... como nada ainda é definitivo , em meados de setembro logo se verá...
a nivel de placas de som pci-e ,encontrei uma x-fi extreme audio pci-e numa loja em portugal ,mas nao encontro referencia no site , e se isso ja é estranho ,reparem nas conexões que ela trás

Pelo menos os satas não ficam ocupados com graficas maiores... Sim agora parece uma P5K3 Deluxe mas eles dizem que o design do heatpipe está por decidir ainda.

First Intel X38 Express Based Mainboard From Gigabyte.
Preparations for Intel X38 Launch in Full Swing
Although the first mainboards based on the new third-series Intel chipset are scheduled to be officially launched only in September, some mainboard makers are already announcing their solutions. The first one to come to the market with the new Intel X38 based platform was Gigabyte that introduced an inexpensive solution called GA-5BXWV-RH.
Based on Intel’s X38 (Bearlake-X) chipset, GIGABYTE GA-5BXWV-RH is designed for single processor based platform in entry level, general purpose workstation, especially for small/middle level business user, graphic editing service, engineering 3D graphic processing, and advanced workstation user or game player.
GA-5BXWV-RH works with 1333/1066/800MHz FSB supporting mainstream Intel desktop processors including upcoming 45nm quad-core/dual-core (Yorkfield/Wolfdale). It can accommodate 4 DIMMs with maximum capacity of 8GB of dual-channel cost-saving unbuffered ECC DDR2-667/800 memory. It features one PCIe x16 slot for advanced high-performance visualization, and 4 PCI slots for legacy PCI devices such as sound cards. In addition, 5 SATA ports support advanced RAID functions, and one PCIe x4 is reserved for future expansion needs.

Note that Gigabyte GA-5BXWV-RH is an inexpensive solution. It features only one PCI Express x16 graphics card slot, and doesn’t use the chipset Crossfire support. It cannot boast any sophisticated chipset cooling systems onboard and is equipped with a four-phase processor voltage regulator.
GA-5BXWV-RH is expected to cost like similar Intel P35 based solutions, since X38 and P35 chipsets differ only by $17. Gigabyte GA-5BXWV-RH should appear in stores within the next few weeks.

The X38 chipset, and motherboards powered by it will officially arrive on September 9 and all the usual suspects are set to be ready for the date with quite a few interesting offers. Earlier this week we showed you one of Gigabyte's affordable X38 boards and now it is time to meet the second best X38 board coming out of Gigabyte's factories - the DDR2-supporting GA-X38-DQ6.
The GA-X38-DQ6 is a high-end board that will reap all the benefits from the X38 chipset but will 'only' come with DDR2 slots so as to keep the cost of upgrading to some decent levels. Other than the 'old' DDR2, the board will feature support for Intel's upcoming 45nm CPUs with FSBs of up to 1600MHz. In addition, the new motherboard will have two x16 PCIe 2.0 slots and will support Crossfire setups (sorry guys, no SLI), eight SATA 3.0 Gbps connectors, two Gigabit Ethernet controllers, one IDE connector and integrated 8 channel audio.
The board also features a quite compact heat-pipe-based cooling system that is a lot smaller than the one found on the GA-P35-DQ6. The GA-X38-DQ6 will hit the stores early next month and will have its price tag set just above those of Gigabyte's top-end P35 offers. Motherboard images are of the X38T, the DDR3 version but the 'non-T' board will be practically identical.

Intel X38 motherboards are set to be released next month and Tier 1 manufacturers are starting to move their offer into the channel. One of the first to release X38 boards is Gigabyte, which has already talked about its X38 line-up. Given Gigabyte's openness it comes to no surprise that the first X38 to pop up in (online) stores is the GA-X38-DQ6. Available at Overclockers UK, the DDR2-supporting boards is priced at £164.99 (£193.86 including VAT) or about 243 euros/$331. The price is £51 (or 75 euros/$102) higher than another DDR2 Gigabyte motherboard, the P35-powered GA-P35-DQ6, making the first X38 sight not so pleasant.
The board is available for pre-order with shipping date being set for September 14 so, there still are two weeks in which we could see a price drop.
