Tonight at The Game Awards 2014, the first-ever gameplay trailer of the modern reimagining of King’s Quest made its debut. Coming in the fall of 2015 from developers The Odd Gentleman under the revitalized Sierra label, King’s Quest brings a contemporary new take on the classic adventure game series with a creative new art style, puzzles, and story.

While players will recognize the characters and familiar storylines of King Graham’s original journeys, King’s Quest introduces new chapters within the series’ universe. King’s Quest will launch in the fall of 2015 across PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One, Xbox 360, and PC.

Today is a great day in the history of The Odd Gentlemen. We are ecstatic to announce that we are working on a new King’s Quest game. We are huge King’s Quest fans, and personally, it is my favorite game series of all time.

I grew up playing the games at my Uncle’s house, and still remember the joy of discovering you could type in “eat carrot,” and Graham would actually respond. The day when I solved the Cliffs of Logic before my Uncle did was an accomplishment I’m still proud of today. These games were brimming with wonder, humor, engaging puzzles, and delightful gameplay all wrapped up in a charming story for players of all ages to explore. We are proud to continue this tradition in a new and fully reimagined King’s Quest.

In the new story King Graham – revered as the greatest adventurer to ever live - shares his life’s adventures with his curious granddaughter, Gwendolyn. It is through these tales that Gwendolyn discovers the true greatness of her grandfather.

Lembram-se da Sierra? Pois é, está de volta. :001:
Corria o ano de 1984 quando a Sierra On-Line lançou o 1º King's Quest, um título de Aventura Gráfica, criado pela Roberta Williams. Foi o 1º jogo da história a correr em standard EGA, de 16 cores. Depois deste mais 7 títulos foram lançados, o último, Mask of Eternity, em 1998.
Mas a Sierra não parou por aí. Ao longo dos anos foi responsável por alguns dos maiores títulos de videojogos da história: Space Quest, Police Quest, SWAT, Leisure Suit Larry, Half-life e CounterStrike.
Em 2009, a Sierra foi absorvida pela Activision e fechou portas. Renasce em 2014 e agora apresenta-nos este King's Quest, pelas mãos da "The Odd Gentleman" O objectivo é ser o mais fiel possível aos títulos antigos, mas transportando essa temática para as últimas gerações de consolas e PC.

Oh boy, oh boy, oh boy... a quantidade de memórias que isto traz!! :001: Provavelmente este não será um jogo tanto para a malta mais nova, mas sim para os mais old-school que jogaram estes títulos.

Excelentes notícias!

É bom ver uma velha glória do passado - Sierra, a renascerer e a trazer de volta um marco fundamental das aventuras gráficas que despontaram em força a partir de finais anos 80. Além do mais, é sempre bom relembrar a Roberta Williams, que trouxe em 1995 o fantástico Phantasmagoria.

Acho que faz falta nas consolas este género de jogos - aventura gráfica e estou a gostar bastante da "cara lavada" deste King´s Quest, pelo que vou acompanhar e subscrever o tópico para novidades que surjam daqui.
 
Parece-me um pouco diferente dos antiguinhos though. Não é tão "point-and-click". Parece-me uma cena mais tipo plataforma, em 3D, com puzzles pelo meio. Veremos no que dá... :)

PS: Eish.... Phantasmagoria, como é que me fui esquecer de mencionar isso? Quando saiu era "só" o maior jogo criado até então. Tudo gravado em vídeo! Eram só 7 CD's... :-D
 
Já sinto saudades de jogar uma boa aventura gráfica. A última que joguei e adorei foi Sibéria 2, já lá vão alguns anos. Fiquei contente por ver que está previsto sair para a PS3 :D

Bem me lembro dos esquemas que tive de fazer e das dores de cabeça que me deu :-D
Acho que o Sibéria e Sibéria 2 foram os dois jogos de aventura gráfica que mais gostei de jogar. Tenho pena que nos últimos anos não tenha havido grandes jogos deste género, pois acho que é bastante apreciado por muitas pessoas.

Vamos esperar para ver a receptividade que este jogo vai ter.

Ver estas imagens é quase como voltar atrás no tempo, aos tempos em que os jogos de Aventura Gráfica ombreavam com os grande títulos FPS e não havia cá multiplayer pra ninguém. Como eu costumo dizer... "não era melhor nem pior... era diferente". :)

Que venha... e mesmo que não seja um grande jogo, tenho a certeza que alguns vão divertir-se bastante a jogar a isto! :hello:
 
Eu lembro-me de jogar o Kings Quest VII no meu 286 (LOL , sim meninos do forum , nao devem saber o que é vao investigar) e adorei o jogo.
 
A Sierra está com um trailer de lançamento no Youtube, colocado hoje, para mostrar gameplay, mas ainda está "private"... esperemos que ilucide mais um pouco...

Hmmm, confirmado que o jogo terá 5 Episódios.

O primeiro capítulo custará $10 (deverá ser convertido para €10). Já a edição completa com os cinco capítulos estará disponível para pré-compra por $40 (possivelmente €40).

Gosto do setting, mas continuo também com dúvidas em relação ao package final em termos de gameplay e o facto de ser episódico...

Vou aguardar por reviews e eventualmente decidir-me pela compra do 1º episódio, just for the kicks...
