Multiplataforma Marvel's Avengers (Crystal Dynamics / Eidos Montreal)

Our next Update, 2.4, is currently targeting a May release. As we mentioned in our last Development Update, 2.4 will continue to focus on systems improvements with an emphasis on in-game events.

Events like Cosmic Threat, Tachyon Anomaly, and Corrupted Vibranium helped build a backbone to Marvel’s Avengers’ first year, allowing us to add variety to the Avengers Initiative and giving new and different goals to chase with your squadmates. As they’ve entered into a rotational calendar this year we want to make sure they stay fresh and compelling for replays. So, in Update 2.4 we’ll be reworking the systems behind those events with the goal of making them more rewarding. Combined with the improved game loop introduced in 2.3, we think these new rewards will make a meaningful change of pace for veteran players, and a great way to gear up for newer players.

Beyond that will be Update 2.5, and while we’ll be coming back with specifics on timing later, we can share that it will introduce a new playable Hero for all platforms: Jane Foster: The Mighty Thor! Our Hero designs are driven first and foremost by their core comic book identities, so, as a fellow wielder of Mjolnir, her suite of abilities will have a lot in common with the Odinson’s, however she will also have elements that are distinctly Jane. More details on how Jane will come to life in our game will be coming in the future.

960x0.jpg

The main draw of patch 2.6, which will launch some time in September, is a new Villain Sector meant to move the story forward, and the storyline involves Monica attempting to reboot MODOK after the events of the base campaign. The mission has been compared in difficulty to the Cosmic Cube, the other Monica fight in the game, and you will indeed be fighting her again, not MODOK. That comes later. This patch also comes with a pass on mass buffing heroic ability damage, and having players get staggered by enemies less.
Details on Bucky Barnes are a little scarce right now, but I confirmed that he is not what you would call a mirror or echo character like Jane Foster was to Thor, and has his own set of moves and abilities, including use of that assault rifle seen in the photo. But he's still in testing, so they didn't want to confirm specific heroics or anything yet.
Bucky is not the only addition coming in 2.7, as the long-awaited, not-killed Cloning Lab is finally coming, something that has been talked about as an endgame activity since the game launched. This will pit us against MODOK and the Cloning Lab has a story behind it that explains why we've been fighting this endless string of Abominations and Taskmasters. It is an Omega-level Threat, same as the raid, and will feature a new gear cap and loot to farm. The Cloning Lab and Monica's Villain Sector before that will both contain narrative beats explaining why we are now seeing Bucky Barnes return at this point in the story.
The timing on patch 2.7 is a little more nebulous. It's coming before the end of this year, but that's as specific as they could get. If 2.6 is September, late November, early December might be a good guess, which is around when Spider-Man and the Wakanda raid arrived a year ago.

As for the longer term, with Avengers doing well with PS Plus and Game Pass boosts, I was able to confirm there are plans for 2023 content and beyond, and Waggoner said outright that the Kree would factor into future storylines. He did say however that Avengers may not get anything as big as last year's War for Wakanda expansion, which added both Black Panther, a sprawling new zone and a bunch of story quests, and instead he's focused on stuff that can be replayable, rather than one-off campaigns.

It’s time to pull back the curtain on the upcoming 2.7 Update that will be adding both the Cloning Lab Omega-Level Threat and Winter Soldier as a playable hero on November 29th!

Cloning Lab Omega-Level Threat

As seen in the No Rest for the Wicked warzone, Monica has revived MODOK but was unable to bring him under her control. The monstrous genius has now taken over AIM’s Cloning Lab, AIM’s most precious base and the source of the cloned villains that have plagued the Avengers. From there MODOK intends to take back up his crusade against powered individuals and you must stop him once and for all before he can put his plans into action.

This Omega-Level Threat is a new end-game challenge headlined by a climactic confrontation with the deranged genius to end the danger once and for all. The Lab is a challenging AIM base that players will navigate before facing off one last time against MODOK in a grand multiplayer fight. MODOK has developed new tactics since players confronted him in San Francisco, and is designed to test our heroes in this new four-against-one fight.

As an OLT, Cloning Lab is designed to push a team of four high-level heroes, though it will be of similar accessible length to our previous OLT, Family Reunion. Cloning Lab requires Power Level 175 to enter will reward both new gear and higher-level gear than ever before, with the power-level cap increasing to 185.

Winter Soldier

Scott Porter joins our expanding Avengers’ cast as Cap’s old sidekick: James Buchanan ‘Bucky’ Barnes, The Winter Soldier, who has escaped captivity and rejoined his friend and allies. Scott is well known from Friday Night Lights, Hart of Dixie, Ultimate Spider-Man, Avengers Assemble, and reprises the role of Bucky from Lego Marvel’s Avengers. We can’t wait for you to see his take on The Winter Soldier, and you’ll first hear his work in our upcoming Winter Soldier motion comic.

The product of a Soviet black science program, The Winter Soldier emerged as a master assassin. He adds to the roster an almost purely assault-focused hero focused on dealing damage to his enemies in a variety of ways. Players will find multiple different builds and playstyles to embody that character fantasy, from the ranged marksman to an expert hand-to-hand combatant, to the deadly super-soldier.

While echoes of Bucky’s past training partners like Captain America and Black Widow can be seen in some of his move-set, he has made them his own and combined them with skills that flow from his Winter Soldier indoctrination and his cybernetic enhancements. Players will find all new animations, a new full skill tree, and heroic abilities all his own when they enter a mission as the Winter Soldier.

Winter Soldier will also launch with his own heroic mission chain that sees the Avengers help him regain his confidence in his capacity for good and deal with the trauma inflicted on him by his captors. Players that complete the mission chain will be rewarded with Bucky’s iconic outfit.

To our amazing community,

After two-and-a-half years and introducing twelve of Earth’s Mightiest Heroes, following Update 2.8 on March 31, 2023, we will no longer add new content or features to Marvel’s Avengers. All official support for the game will end on September 30, 2023.

Even after official support ceases on September 30, 2023, both single- and multi-player gameplay will continue to be available. See below for more information.

Update 2.7, which added the Winter Soldier Hero and Cloning Lab Omega-Level Threat, is the last new content to be added to the game. No new cosmetics are coming to the Marketplace, and all final balance updates will occur in Update 2.8 in March.

Along with the end of development, we’ll also be turning off the cosmetics Marketplace. When Update 2.8 launches on March 31, 2023, Credits will no longer be purchasable and all remaining Credit balances will be converted into in-game resources to aid ongoing adventures. Here is a table with the resources that will be granted based on existing Credit balances:

As a show of our appreciation for our community, starting March 31, 2023 we will make all the game’s Marketplace, Challenge Card, and Shipment cosmetic content available to all players for free. Every single Outfit, Takedown, Emote, and Nameplate from the Marketplace, Challenge Cards, and Shipments will be free for all players from this date onwards if you own a copy of the game.

Gifting the full library of Marketplace cosmetic content is a way to thank our community by letting everyone experience the breadth and depth of content in Marvel’s Avengers.

We know this is disappointing news as everyone in our community has such a connection to these characters and their stories. We’re so, so grateful that you came on this adventure with us. Your excitement for Marvel’s Avengers – from your epic Photo Mode shots, to your threads theorizing who our next Heroes would be, to your Twitch streams – has played a large part in bringing this game to life.

We hope you continue to play and enjoy Marvel’s Avengers. We can’t thank you enough for your support and for being part of our super team.

– Marvel’s Avengers Development Team

Ainda me diverti bastante com o single player e alguns momentos no multi.
