"Intel To Announce 133Mhz PIVs, 850E Chipset Tomorrow The processors themselves are the same as the current Northwoods, just set for 133Mhz FSB. They're the PIV equivalent of the Coppermine "EB" chips.
The average overclocker should stay away from them because Northwood technology isn't advanced enough at the moment to realistically expect them to run at 166Mhz without heavy-duty measures. We're probably talking Peltiers or better here.
The 850E (that's the RDRAM chipset) will also be introduced, which is supposed to work with PC1066 RDRAM. Will be interesting to see if Intel supports Rambus to the extent of at least passing around an 850E board and PC1066 along with a 2.53 to the review sites. Guess we'll know within the next 24. Not a sight of PC1066 on Pricewatch, though.
In all likelihood, we'll see the 845E out two weeks later, and the 845G a week or two after that.

Hasta,
