Prep for another round of invasive surgery.
July 13, 2007 - If there's one thing the world needs more of, it's unlicensed physicians. This holiday season, Atlus is giving you the chance to cut your teeth on cutting people open with Trauma Center: New Blood.
It you missed the first Trauma Center -- it originally came to the DS and was revamped for the Wii launch -- you take your Wiimote and nunchuck and use them as a variety of medical tools (think scalpels and forceps) to save people's lives. Broken bones? Glass in a lung? No job is too small.
Atlus was nice enough to show us the trailer for the brand new medical adventure and highlight the title's two-player cooperative play this morning.
Opening with a the beep of a heart monitor, the trailer informed us that we're 10 years removed from the events of the original Trauma Center -- when a mysterious illness called GUILT was killing people left and right -- but a new "harbinger of doom" is on the horizon.
New Blood puts players behind the surgical masks of Markus Vaughn and Valerie Blaylock. The brunette duo run an Alaskan hospital free of the bureaucracy of big city medicine, but when the doors to the ER are mysteriously closed, the MDs take their healing touch to the Concordia Medical Institute in Los Angeles and -- eventually -- to the pinnacle of top-secret operations, Caduceus.
The new title will be full voiced, run in 480p and 16:9 widescreen modes, feature a ton of new characters and allow you to put your high scores up against the best in the world via the Wii's online score tracker.
However, Atlus representatives weren't prepared to answer the biggest question about New Blood -- will the original Trauma Center's flakey doctor Derek Styles pop up?
The pretend medical community waits with bated breath.
É simplesmente o jogo da Atlus que mais vendeu na América de sempreÉ sinal que o jogo está a ter sucesso! Espero que continue assim durante mais alguns anos!
A sério? Não sabia nada disso. Que engraçado... Espero então que o novo jogo venda o mesmo.
Vendeu bem... mas não chegou às 120 mil cópias... (E eu importei a minha)O Persona 3 deles vendeu assim tão mal?
Fonte: http://www.1up.com/do/previewPage?cId=3163627 (preview completa aqui)With a completely new cast, the characters in this Trauma Center seem to have a bit more personality than the physicians in the first Wii game. The two playable characters Dr. Vaughn and Dr. Blaylock can be pretty entertaining. Also, the addition of full voice acting helps the story along, but the dialogue never gets too serious.
If the story and voice acting are a little lighthearted, so is the gameplay. Trauma Center doesn't require any detailed knowledge of anatomy -- a sweep of the Wii Remote makes a cut with the scalpel, and a squeeze of the trigger places some life-saving antibiotics on the wound. You don't always have to be precise, like when using ultrasound, quickly making stitches, or applying antibiotics. But speed and precision are often the best way to cure your patients, and you're rewarded with bonus points for treating them competently.

Games like New Blood fit the Wii almost perfectly, and even after blowing through two full games during the system’s first year we’re still asking for more, as there’s simply no denying the franchise’s motion/IR appeal. We could write volumes on why this game works, but it wouldn’t change the simple fact that it just does, so rather than read about the game you’d be better off grabbing a copy (and a friend) and just diving into one of the best pure gameplay experiences Wii has to offer. Trauma Center: New Blood is the best in the series, and a must-have for any Wii owner. Buy it, love it, and then beg for more.
Score Breakdown:
8.0 Presentation
Better than the previous version with 16:9 display, more VO, and a crisp storyboard style. Could still be improved greatly, but improved nonetheless.
7.5 Graphics
Widescreen adds to the visual style, and while the game looks very similar to last year’s effort it makes use of more backdrops and locales, and more “levels” to operate in.
7.5 Sound
A huge improvement in both amount and quality of VO. The general sound design is similar, but also offers a larger soundtrack.
8.5 Gameplay
Gameplay remains virtually unchanged, but new tools and techniques add depth. Co-op mode is awesome, as are the new story-less “challenge” stages.
8.0 Lasting Appeal
Online rankings make an appearance this year, as does the ability to play three difficulty levels (that really change the experience), two doctors, co-op, and challenge missions.
8.5 OVERALL (Great)
Vai sair, até já vi o boxart australiano (PAL) algures. Mas datas não sei.Alguem sabe da data de lançamento na Europa? Ou se vai haver uma?
