Day Of Defeat Steamworks Update In Beta

A new update adding support for Steamworks is currently available in beta for Day of Defeat: Source, the popular World War II online action game from Valve, creators of the Half-Life and Counter-Strike games.
Leveraging the recently released free set of services available in Steamworks, the Day of Defeat update will add 51 achievements for DoD, player avatar display in the scoreboard and win panel, and detailed player statistics integrated with the Steam Community features (www.steamcommunity.com).

This update also adds support for popular features introduced in Valve's Team Fortress 2 (TF2), the PC title named multiplayer game of the year by Gamespy.com and PC Gamer. These include "nemesis/revenge" freeze cam and new effects driven by the particle system introduced to the Source engine for TF2.

In addition, this update will also introduce a new map, dod_Palermo, which is a remix of the most popular community map, dod_salerno.

Owners of Day of Defeat: Source, retail and Steam versions, may join the beta free of charge.

Basicamente é o update que a Valve promete desde a saída do Team Fortress 2/Orange Box.
O próximo da lista deve ser o Counter-Strike: Source.

Quem tem o DoDS, pode já fazer download da Beta.

epa saquei a beta e esta exelente!

mudaram muita coisa mesmo, a nova garand esta ao nivel da rifle dos nazis

o jogo esta mais ao estilo do dod 1.3 , aconselho a todos os fans de dod

ou entao esperem pela versao final , devera aparecer como update para o dod source

mas por enquanto a beta tem ficheiros propios 3GB para depois poder ser removido totalmente quando o update final chegar

ja jogo dod desde 1999 , nunca achei um jogo online igual joguei as versoes:

HL dod 3.0 beta

HL dod 3.1a beta (ainda fiz parte do primeiro clan portugues)

depois inventaram o steam com a versao 1.0 final com o tempo passou depois a 1.3

e agora finalmente a valve comprou os direitos do dod e cs e passaram de MODS para jogos oficiais com a versao source (motor HL2) ja fui membro e criador de muitos clans tugas , alguns ainda activos
 
O quê? Update ao DoD:Source? Eu comprei o Hl2 Silver só por causa do DoD Source, depois tive de esperar um ano e finalmente foi uma maravilha, nada de ingleses nem do que eu estava a espera.

Deixa-me ir ver isto :-D

Nunca poderia ser o sucessor legítimo do Source visto que é feito por amadores e não pela própria Valve.
Já tive a beta instalada e não gostei, parecido com o 1.6 mas com gráficos de source:\

Já saiu a versão completa. Vai haver um Free Weekend de DoD: Source este fim de semana(de 4 a 6 de Julho), pre-load aqui.

PS: Para quem quiser saber, nas próximas semanas deve tar ai a beta do Counter-Strike: Source 2008.
