Todd Howard revealed in a recent interview that players who are under level 5 in Fallout 76 won't have to worry about being killed in PvP scenarios. When you first start the game you can chill a little and build yourself up before having to take on other players.
In the interview with Multiplayer.it, when asked how Bethesda will stop spawn killers hanging around outside the vault, Howard responded saying, "There are several tricks we are implementing to prevent the other players from doing exactly the things you describe. For example, at the moment you can not kill a player until he reaches level 5."
However, Howard goes on to say that this could be a feature that gets changed in the future depending on how things turn out over the coming months. The studio could decide to remove that feature to give players complete freedom in the world, that even means letting the dicks be dicks.
If you're someone who completely hates playing with other players and just want a classic singleplayer Fallout experience, well you'll be happy to hear that one of the studios long-term plans is to have servers "where you can live your lonely world." Or, alternatively, if you just want to play with a specific group of friends then private servers could be a thing in the future too. A the moment though, none of these things will be present when the game launches later this year.
Fallout 76 will be heading to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on 16th November.
