LOS ANGELES--What is Afrika? Well, all we know of this new PlayStation 3 game revealed during Sony's Electronic Entertainment Expo press conference is that it features lots and lots of African animals, rendered in lifelike detail as they go about their daily lives. We saw rhinoceroses, giraffes, zebras, caribou, wildebeests, and cheetahs as they roamed the African plains and watering holes. The graphics were certainly very nice, and you could see everything from the armored segments on the rhino down to the chewing motions on the giraffe as it feasted on leaves high up in trees. And that's about it. In fact, the game's full title won't even be Afrika, it seems, since the trailer also mentioned that "Afrika" was only a "working title." As soon as we learn more, such as who is making the game and who is publishing it, we'll let you know.

os graficos tao muito bons, o que sera que e para fazer neste jogo?safari?matar animais com armas?(nao me parece,teriamos todo um grupo de ecologistas em cima)ou sera que encarnamos por exemplo num leao e vamos caçar?parece me bem original ao menos,este jogo é um esclusivo para a ps3?

È assim, o jogo acho que és um homem que estuda os animais (não me lembro do nome dessa profissão) e invetiga os seus meios naturais e informações, portanto matar os animais acho que está fora de questão. Acho que nem chega a ser um exclusivo, mas acho que é só da ps3
 
The producers of the game haven't commented on the objective of this game. However, it seems pretty clear that what you have to do is find and take pictures of wildlife. I plan on taking pictures of all the animals genatalia

It's unknown what kind of game Afrika actually is. The trailer showed off a hippo, a giraffe, zebras, a yak, and a rhino (oddly enough, the developer of the game is Rhino Studios) going about their business in the grasslands of Africa, and... That was about it, really. There were no guns, no summon spells, and definitely no bikini-clad babes fighting to the death.
There's a ton of speculation surrounding Afrika. Is it a game like Pok¿mon Snap where you take photos of the animals in their natural habitat? Is it a life simulator where the player acts as a god and bestows rain or rains plague on his creations? Or is it a poaching game where you go out and get your game on?

Este texto já é bastante antigo (é de 2006) mas ainda não vi nenhum mais recente com mais informação sobre o jogo. O trailer deixou-me bastante curioso e queria saber se já havia mais alguma informação do jogo, ou continuamos na dúvida sobre o que é que vamos fazer? Acho que já ouvi Phil Harrison dizer que ia ser um jogo sem violência no qual seriamos um fotografo de vida selvagem mas já não me lembro onde/quando vi isso. Ou então já estou a inventar coisas...


Qualquer informação e opinião sobre o jogo é bem vinda...

Também é um "jogo" que me desperta alguma curiosidade..
Se calhar vai ser um jogo apenas acessível por download..Já ouvi rumores que estaria relacionado com o Home..mas não me acredito muito..Para quem gosta de fotografias e da natureza..é o melhor que deverá haver..
 
Os gráficos parecem excelentes, só não percebo é a finalidade do jogo...

Se for só para andar a ver os animais, vou eu próprio ás savanas do Serengeti,

ou então fico ao fim de semana em casa a ver aqueles documentários deste senhor
escondido atrás dos arbustos
