Hi guys, sorry for all the constant lack of news but this time around I have something to annouce.
I belive we could separate this into two different sides, a good one and a bad one.
To begin with, here at Remedy, we have been giving all our efforts to make Alan Wake the best gaming experience of all times. As you know, we have been working on this title for quite some time and let me tell you that we are totally proud of it.
Now let`s get this straight. It was never in our minds to make Alan Wake a single plataform game, but unfortunately we had to make a strong wised dicision in order to make the best out of this title.
This take us to the bad news. We decided that the best way to make Alan Wake a full enjoyable game, where all our creativity could be fully explored, was to induce this game as Windows Vista PC exclusive, leaving Xbox 360 out ot the picture.
The main reason is based upon the restrictions that we have come across while trying to develop the game on Xbox 360 hardware. Dont get us wrong here, we gave our best night and day, but somehow this goes beyond our own control. Alan Wake as the game it is, requires a lot more than what we first had in mind.
Xbox 360 is a great machine but it would generate too many flaws, restricting the game into something that would totally take away all the beauty and passion of the game.
Alan Wake will perform like a movie where you can take fully control of all your actions and reactions.
The environment will change while your steps and acts will change. You will be forced into a world of lunacy and nightmarish realms where illusion and reality will overcome every thin line. In the end it will be the experiencie that we all wanted you to taste and face on a video game. Something that has never been this close to reality.
Right now, our dedicion is to make Alan Wake only for PC. And here comes the good news; The game will come out during the fall of 2009, and we are working harder than ever to bring some sweet new screens and trailers to all of you in the next couple of months.
So stand still and let the light over take you...before the night consumes you.
