"Hello, this keyboard (
https://www.gskill.com/en/product/ripjaws-km780-rgb--cherry-mx-rgb-red ) is listed as compatible only with windows. Having this, I would like to know what doesn't work in Linux systems. If what doesn't work is disabling the windows key and the software to change or if even the layout and everything has problems. With my mouse ( from other brand ) the RGB works but i can only change it in the software that only runs in windows and that is absolutely fine for me, and disabling the windows key isn't also a trouble if it doesn't work, just need to make sure there are no other problems in not using it in a windows environment. Thank you for your support"

1. Media keys: This uses standard Windows media signals, so if your Linux build supports Windows media key signals, then this will work as well. However, the volume wheel is designed to sync with Windows OS volume, so this function might not work.
2. Timer key: This function requires software, but if you enable this function in the software in Windows, and switch over to Linux, the lighting effect should show up after the countdown finishes, but the on screen display wouldn’t work.
3. Brightness key: This function works through firmware, so you can dim the backlighting if you wish on any system.
4. Windows Key Lock: This function works through firmware, so the lock should still toggle the Win key
5. M1, M2, M3 (mode keys, aka profiles): This is firmware based, so the keyboard will still switch between the different modes. Lighting profiles and macros you’ve saved into the keyboard on a Windows OS through the software, will switch accordingly. Although key assignment settings with Windows functions would not work.
6. MR (on-the-fly macro recording): This is also firmware based, so you can still record macros. The only downside is you won’t be able to edit the macros without the software. If you accidentally recorded a macros, then you will need the software to reset the key back to default, or depending on the key, re-record its original function back to the key itself.
7. USB and audio passthrough: These are simply cable extensions, so as long as you have the respective cables plugged in, these will work regardless of OS.
8. RGB backlighting and lighting effects: As long as these are set thru the software on a compatible Windows OS, and you’ve saved these settings to the device memory, then the lighting effect will display under the respective mode.
The following will not work across systems, even when settings are saved to onboard memory, due to security concerns:
1. Text macro
2. Link profile to software
3. Website links (via key assignment)
These should cover the basic functionalities.
If you are purchasing this keyboard for Linux use, we recommend updating the firmware by installing the latest software version on a Windows OS before usage. This will help with any possible bugs that might have existed in earlier keyboard firmware versions.
Also, for Linux use, please make sure to switch the hardware switch next to the USB passthrough port to “S” for the standard USB 6-key rollover. Some Linux systems may have trouble with the “G” mode, which is the n-key rollover setting.
Thank you."
Pelo menos a mim resolveu qualquer duvida que tinha de compatibilidade.
