EX-Xbox chief officer Robbie Bach - “Is it just a game box or is it more?” he asked. “What’s the balance between what an
Apple TV is and what an Xbox or a PlayStation 4 is? These are really interesting questions, and the team's going to have to wrestle with those. That next generation will be a whole new game.” A referencia a Apple TV.
"It's also worth remembering that the Xbox One doesn't necessarily need more processing power in a new device. Microsoft could use
Azure cloud computing to help boost the power of its console, as it originally wanted to back in 2012. The requirement of an
"always-on" device perturbed many back in 2012, but attitudes have changed and Microsoft could quite easily roll such a feature out now. Microsoft has also been working towards pushing Windows 10 onto the Xbox, meaning that we could also see Microsoft bring in an on-demand game system like
Sony's PlayStation Now or EA's Access service."
"With
Apple TV and Amazon Fire TV offering up games alongside heavily integrated entertainment packages, it wouldn't be surprising if
Microsoft tried to do the same."
In fact, rumours have been circulating that Microsoft could be looking to release
two versions of the Xbox Two. One would be a comprehensive console made for those who have been following the Xbox throughout its lifetime;
the other a stripped-down, disc-free model that would work akin to Apple TV, offering up entertainment with games functionality stapled onto the side. Sinceramente acho que será o mais certo.
